Warcraft 3 And Tiesto - A Tear in the Open!?
View this Thread in Original format
Gringo
Hi guys,

Im posting this for a sanity check...cause I think i might be going crazy

Anyone else noticed that when you play as Night Elves in Warcraft 3, if you lose and then go back to the scoreboard showing kills / resources etc
The music IS "A Tear in the Open" from Tiesto's Just Be album! Just without the beat to it...It even has the moans in it.

Can anyone explain how/why this is?

Go check this out if you don't believe me...Just make a skirmish and surrender as Night Elves.. Not sure if it takes a few goes till you get that paticular music.

I guess either no one believes me or they can't be bothered to try it out! Shame, I would love to know how a Tiesto tune got on a Blizz game.
Timothy
sample?
Gringo
Don't have one unfortunately and I'v uninstalled W3.
If anyones got in installed, do the above and you should get it. I'll try and get the sample if I can.

Probably an old track that is no longer under copyright and by coincidence WOW and Tiesto both used it. There is probably no connection.

Ive just checked and theres some ressemblance... lol@tiesto

the vocals are the same
Invertika
If you read the Just Be album sleeve notes for A tear in the open, it says 'vocals courtesy of Spectrasonics - vocal planet', im guessing its a sample cd or similar that they both just used
Gringo
Here's me thinking he had them vocals specifically recorded for the track
:)

To be honest I never realised you could recycle old vocals like that but I guess a lot of artists must do it eh? :conf:

It's from an old sample CD. It's been used in a lot of productions - stephen cambridge, tiesto, warcraft, to name a few.
