Numark TT500

I am looking to invest in a pair of turntables and of course my first and almost only choice was going to be Technic. Happened to stumble upon these Numarks and may make the swing. Was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them? I have read absolutely nothing except great personal and company reviews on them and a lot saying better then the Technics. Especially as far as the price comparison.

Thoughts?

There is a guy on here who always swears by them, I am sure he will jump into this thread and give his rave review.

They are a pretty solid deck, but i wouldnt go as far as saying they are better then technics. Ask again in 25 years.

some people say they are better then the ttx1, as they feel more solid, without the bells and whistles.

As far as what I remember when I was shopping for turntables they're about the same thing as the TTX1s. If you want Technics and price is an issue then get used Technics.

These arent bad, Torque is nice, but they feel like a toy...

yeah good question, i was looking at getting apair myself...
need the power of the TTX but not all the bells and wistles...
seems like a nice trade, no useless LCD screen and some digitizer crap, for a cheaper price...

There a good enough deck they have a nice amount of torque and a low enough w&f... Cant really reccomend them over technics simply because the way they feel to use and mix with... not to mention there looks.... Its just me tho but i would look at techs or even something else i mean there was a thread up here just the other day with people giving heaps to the ttx... (there the same deck just without the lcd), Its up to you tho i mean i know people who own the 500's and think that nothing beats them and one thing i think is kinda cool is the interchangeable tone arms... Wouldnt make me buy them tho

I have these decks. Bought them more than a year ago for about $250 each. I can only speak great things about these decks. They're very precise. You have the option of using the pitch fader for 8%, 10%, 20% and 50%(not so useful) increments. It feels really solid, has amazing torque power. It has really good feel when mixing. I would recommend them to anybody looking to avoid spending all that money in the 1200's. TT500's are really good analog turntables, can be compared to the 1200's analogs without a problem.
