Is $625US for a brand new factory sealed Dnx1500 a good deal?
Soundwerks
sounds like a good deal! Just be weary....I see youre from Toronto....just know that your warranty is void in Canada...you will have to send it to the US to get serviced.

And also be prepared for mucho shipping charges, duties etc....when importing.
Rhue
I know calculated the duties shipping etc. Total comes out to 757US with 15% duties, shipping etc. Still better than the rates the canadian shops are giving me. :)

Denon seems to be a reliable mixer. Hopefully servicing won't be a major issue...:)
Soundwerks
so thats about $1000 CAD....I think it's maybe $1100-1200 CAD in stores here.

I dunno...try it out! *shrug*

I was looking at grabbing this mixer... plz lemme know too!!!.. post the final price and your mixer review here, i'm quite interestedin knowing
Rhue
Final price for a brand new Dnx-1500 with shipping to Canada is $662.95! :D

Well i don't mind paying the 15% duty tax now....

P.S WTF is a behringer doing in the midst of your M5gs, denon and Senhiser! Give it to charity ASAP! :stongue: :stongue:
Soundwerks
have you tried any places in toronto? A lot of retailers sell it there....so you wont have to pay shipping..just taxes. See what kinda deal you can get.

Usually, when I have ordered stuff from the states, I end up paying DOUBLE in CAD$.

For instance, something that costs $500 USD, will usually end up at around $1000 CAD after conversion, shipping, duties, taxes, and of course, the ever famous brokerage fees :nervous:
Rhue
Good point, thats why you make sure they arimail it to you. Will cost 20 bucks more but you only have to pay the 7% provincial tax. You can also ask them to list it as a gift :D :D

Since you have scared the out of me with the Brokerage, i'm thinking i'll get it shipped to my friend in New Jersey and make him send it to me as a gift or something :D
Soundwerks
:stongue: well, if they send it by US POSTAL, then, you're lucky. I dont think they charge anything when it comes over.

If its coming in by UPS or FEDEX, then youre screwed ;)

I just picked mine up 2 days ago. I was gonna buy one on ebay, but shipping and duty made me go to a local shop. I figure its about 100-150$ CAD more to buy from a retailer, but I wanted my mixer then and now..

Final bill was $1250 taxes in.
Rhue
^Not Bad....

However I am confident the price will stay at $835 cdn with shipping and no taxes for me :D :D (yes it is brand new)

Details coming Saturday or Monday, as the mixer is due to be shipped this tuesday ;)
