Spin spin sugar is quite rightly a house/speed garage classic.
VERY bass heavy track.
Its also quote sought after.
As fas as bass heavy tunes go, it does exactly what it says on the tin- nice cross section of commercial and not so commercial stuff- and anything that gets them doing something different from the 'big tunes' and data trance by numbers crap is a bonus in my opinion.
Lost the plot with regards to their roots and what made them big in the first place- yes
lost the plot with regards to business? Nope- it will sell by the shedload and ,make them muchos $$ |

Tbh, I can't really see what's so "quality" about that one.... |

| Only MOS could go from Dizzee Rasclat to Accsess. |

| i'm sure this is a calculated business decision. MOS probably had license for these comps already and figured that they could squeeze a few more pounds from them. who can blame them tho. but they should do this with under a different label tho, cos MOS keeps ting on their brand. |

MOS aren't really spoiling their brand ... cos what's the MOS brand ever been, except to stack the supermarket shelves with big glossy packaged compilation boxes of cheesey and yesterday's hits?
The way it works is
1) Record gets spun by cool superstar DJs in clubs
2) a couple of weeks later EDM-savvy radio station bosses (i.e. Radio One) notice cool tune in the clubs, and tell their in house DJs like Jules and Tong to play it
3) About a month later, song has gone big on Radio One, so MTV and all the commercial radio stations playlist it
4) About 2 months after that it ends up on a MOS compilation of 'today's biggest tunes' when in fact it's already been getting played for months in every shop in every mall in the known universe, the entire world has heard it 50 times, and most people are getting heartily sick of it.
Oh yeah - and the uber cool EDM elite TAs have already downloaded it and listened to it and dissed it about 0.003 seconds after the first copy has even been pressed, let alone posted out to the superstar DJs, so that by the time normal people have heard it around about stage 2, they can slag off people and call them noobs who come on here and post about this cool new track they've just heard
Seriously though, the only people that buy MOS compilations are teenage scatterbrain hairdresser chicks, and pimply adolescents that know all about EDM but want something that's going to impress all their mates when they race up and down the street in their pissy little hotted up honda civics playing that at nose bleedingly loud volume.
I mean for christs sake who CARES about "Maximum Bass" (extends hand and makes slow wanking gesture), the only prize for having the biggest subs is that you get to lose your hearing at age 25 instead of 30.
What about "maximum quality of music" that kind of interests me more :( |
