Hey ... a fellow Irish producer ... how could I not check this out :)

You've got some great work here man ...

Very first thing that struck me about it (after the kicks!) is the levels, they're waaay too high (when your VU starts to average over -10dB, something needs to be looked at), the resultant clipping (albeit limited clipping) is probably reshaping the sound quite a bit. I wonder how this would sound if all the levels were dropped by 10dB?

You've an excellent bassline (love it!), melody, structure, and perc set. In general I really like the tune: full credit man, this is good work. ;)

do you mean drop them all by 10 dB then normalize..i have an l3 compressor on it that should keeps the levels below 0 dB.. ill work on it a bit further..check out my remix of tiestos lethal industry see what you think..
linkmage
shaker at start to primitive..
for bass - some reeverb or delay atsmall cut,for clap this also would be great, nostalgic track...
hats at start of midlle - you can do some variations at 4 or 8 bar or something, kick could be more stereo.from 02:40 do some automation with string, and the piano comes string cut is to big....track style is like old 1998 trance....I like....

Keep going:cool: BTW sorry for grammar

Well yes, it does, but at what cost? You're driving the compressor so hard that it's effectively working as a limiter.

Just try this: In your sequencer, drop the volume of every channel (except the master channel) by 8-10dB. There should be no need to normalize, because you'll still be driving that compressor quite hard I think. Now, listen to the difference between the two versions ... if I'm right, the second version should sound much cleaner.

Hey.

-Great rolling bassline. Very ctachy.
-Good noise shots, they add a lot ot the percussion.
-Cool string sound, maybe decays a little to quickly though. It plays and then stops leaving u to want more of the sound continueing to the next note played. Personal opinion of course :).
-The pad is very good but it sounds a little thin. Need another instrument going in unison with it that is a bass string.
-Nice break. Though, the snare rise is a bit out of place since it rises to nothing. To get to the awesome piano sound you have going in there, using lopass filters instead. Take everything down to around 250Hz over the course of about 3 measures then over the 4th measure, rise it back up to 16000Hz to where the piano will come in. Do somethign similar when going into the break. No need for the snare rolls :). Actually for the break, I find it best to get into one by using a reversed crash followed by a crash when the beat comes in.
-The melody is really good but its a bit too repetative.
-I like the resonated bass-counter but in relation to the rest of the song, its a few notches too loud. Turn it down a bit and itll blend nicely.
-I like the second break here with the bass thumping but then the pads come in at full frequency :). Use filters! :tongue2

Overall, its a dance song with some good potential. Theres a few key things to definantly work on though. Use filters and make your sounds a little fatter by layering instruments. Dont be afraid to put in another instrument that plays the same notes as another completely different sounding instrument :).
Grade A (potential)

Loud kick! Very high energy early on.

Good bassline. I also like that trippy clicking noise.

This lead gives the track a very eighties feel. I like it.

Yay for acid.

Not much else to say about it. Good track.
