anywaysss. what would i like to know about psy prog...? let me think. oh yeah, perhaps a valid description of what it sounds like! |

usually a mixture of prog. house and/or prog. trance with various psy elements...like duh!!
The BPM is by and large faster than prog. trance and slower than Psy Trance. |
And perhaps if you while away your precious time listening to some of the artists i mentioned, you will hear exactly how it sounds in lieu of prolonging this great big ludicrous discourse. |

i don't want to listen to those artists, i want someone to tell me what prog psy sounds like. all you did was restate the title of the supposed subgenre in more words. this discourse is ludicrous. why i am continuing it is almost incomprehensible.
oh here's my definition of epic trance: melodic techno with some eurodance elements! |

the reason why J00Fs psytrance sound different from normal psy djs is that he takes normal full on tunes and slows down the BPM. this makes it sound much darker and heavier.
He described this in a thread a while ago. You can clearly hear that some tunes he play, for example Space Monkey - Resident Evil etc are pitched down and sounds very different from the original.
And among this he also plays a big portion of progpsy such as Tegma, Son Kite, Vibrasphere, SBK etc.
And this is what makes him a unique dj 8) |

Progressive just means its not following the same trends as the rest of the genre and is therefore progressing, and is called progressive. |
says who? you? who the are you, genesis p'orridge? why does something new mean the genre is progressing? what is "something new"?
| quote: | | So saying progressive psy dosnt exist is moot. |
whether i think it exists or not is moot. the point is that nobody can tell me what it means, therefore i have no reason to believe it exists because i've never heard anything that sounds like it could be called progressive psy.
| quote: | | I could make a psyish sounding track, but add in some new element that isnt heard in other psy tracks and well, I have just made progressive psy! |
no, you've made psy with a new element. besides, if you were right, then why doesn't someone tell me about this "new element" that prog psy has, but regular psy doesn't have? |
