What a beutiful song :(
When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
When the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
High up above or down below
when you too in love to let it go
If you never try you'll never know
Just watch and learn
Lights will guide you home
and ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you |

my fav. is "careful where you stand"
off the b-sides record, but a lot better than some of the tracks on their other albums. |

I don't know why a lot of people don't like them. Granted people have their opinions and I respect that but they are quite talented to say the least, especialy after listening to all their albums and b-sides. So many lovely and well done songs.
Their lyrics really shine through their songs too. Their new songs are sounding very promising, I'll be buying this album when it comes out. |

+1
A lot of the songs bring back fond memories, well some not so found. Actualy most bring back bad sad memories but oh well. Quality group none the less. Yellow didn't do much for me but Trouble reeled me in and then when I heard their second album, songs like A Rush of Blood to the Head, I was hooked. |

| see those are some great lyrics. why can't trance producers write something meaningful like that. its so much better then "my love is a waterfall embracing you" or something stupid like that. those lyrics are real and relatable by everyone... |

That's why some of the best vocal tracks are of tracks that had thought put into them and are by artists who actualy have some talent ie. Dido, Sarah M, Depeche Mode, etc. |

Here are the lyrics from one of my favourite Coldplay tracks, A Rush of Blood to the Head:
He said I'm gonna buy this place and burn it down
I'm gonna put it six feet underground
He said I'm gonna buy this place and watch it fall
Stand here beside me baby in the crumbling walls
Oh I'm gonna buy this place and start a fire
Stand here until I fill all your heart's desires
Because I'm gonna buy this place and see it burn
And do back the things they did to you in return
Ah, ah, ah
He said Oh I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war
If you can tell me something worth fighting for
Oh I'm gonna buy this place is what I said
Blame it upon a rush of blood to head
(And) honey
All the movements your starting to make
See me crumble and fall on my face
And I know the mistakes that I made
See it all disappear without a trace
And they call as they beckon you on
They say start as you mean to go on
Start as you mean to go on
He said I'm gonna buy this place and see it go
Stand here beside me baby watch the orange glow
Some'll laugh and some just sit and cry
But you just sit down then you wonder why
So I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war
If you can tell me something worth fighting for
And I'm gonna buy this place is what I said
Blame it upon a rush of blood to the head
ah to the head, oh
(And) honey
All the movements you're starting to make
See me crumble and fall on my face
And I know the mistakes that I made
See it all disappear without a trace
And they call as they beckon you on
They say start as you mean to go on
As you mean to go on, as you mean to go on
So meet me by the bridge, meet me by the lane
When am I gonna see that pretty face again
Meet me on the road, meet me where I said
Blame it all upon
A rush of blood to the head |

i agree completely...accept i'd say "that's why ALL" hahaha :p
but yeah...not enough time goes into trance lyrics...kinda sad really because there are some great trance vocalists... |

I suppose it's like a lot of other genres. What becomes popular and circulates are the same old lyrics recycled from the last popular song from a vocalist that had no talent to begin with.
Maybe that's what makes a group like Coldplay stand out, they have a nice combo of good lyrics, fairly good vocals and awesome melodies. I guess there has to be a lot of out there to appreciate the truly beautiful tracks. |

cause they were overhyped. I used to hate them, but with all the hype gone i've started to like them |
