| No, but it's on my to do list in 2006. I have a friend going to London Business School next year. I plan on going to S. Africa while I'm in Europe and take one of those great white shark excursions in a shark cage. Some European made the news recently because a 20ftr almost broke into his cage and ate him ... what he said afterwards: I would do it again. Sign me up ... |

That would be in Cape Town... If you're ever in Johannesburg, make it a point to get to E.S.P nightclub where I'm currently playing! You won't be dissapointed. High quality trance all the way!!! |

I was there three of four years ago on a study trip.. Went to Jo'burg and Pretoria for a week and a half, and afterwards to Cape Town for another ten days.
Awesome country. Nice clubbing scene in Cape Town as well.. Can't even remember all the venues I've been to (only 96 Degrees, does that ring a bell?) and a fairly big one just outside the city. Furthermore there was this bar with some damn fine Coyote Ugly-like acts, and a nice, somewhat more classy venue at the beach (think the name started with an 'M').
I'd love to go back there someday. |

96 is still going strong! But E.S.P is now undoubtedly the ruler when it comes to Trance.
Just to give you guys an idea, in a month we had Brian Cross from Amesia in Ibiza, Gareth Emery aka GTR and 4Strings!!!
What an awesome show! We've now got Rank1 lined up and PG2 from Txitxarro in Spain. I can't wait to spin with these guys |

I lived in Cape Town til I was 19 (then moved to London), 96 Degrees was my fav club (but it shut down in 2002).
The scene there is dead now, only 1 proper club, and its all hard house/hard trance poo.
Still, the people are gorgeous, the weather is lovely and the scenery is amazing (standing on top of Table Mountain, seeing the entire southern tip of Africa AND where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet :eyespop: )
I cant wait to go back for a holiday :D |

I was somewhat waiting for a response from you (I picked up the fact you're SA born somewhere, dunno why or where :) )..
Lovely city indeed.. I can relate to the Table Mountain view you're talking about.. Loved it myself as well. Too bad to hear the scene's gone down the ters there though. |

I was actually born in Portugal but have been in S.A for most of my life. Cape town isn't doing too well when it comes to the scene but JHB is cooking at the moment. We have international guys here almost every second weekend which is doing wonders for the clubbing scene.
This coming weekend we're hosting Tomcraft plus Blank & Jones as well... It's gonna be HUGE!!! |
