I enjoyed meeting you guys (Scott, Leanne, Asai <--spelling?, and Matt! Sorry I was kinda a stick in the mud but I wasn't quite myself because I'm sick. Hopefully I'll be well and ready to party hard next time we go out. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the cd, Matt, it's actually the original recorded disk and I didn't make copies so you're the only one who has it ;).
About the show:
*Very disappointed in Habersham and Numinous. They had a few cool breaks tracks but other than that, I felt no energy from them. I expected much more
*Very disappointed in JXL as well! He sounded just the same as he did on halloween. This guy's discography is more than impressive but he insists on playing the same tracks! Most of them are good tracks but how about some "Power of Big Slacks" or "Bon Voyage" or "Nightmares" or "Ryukyu Underground" or "Mary" or "Don't Wake up Policeman" (not the one where just the vocals are mixed in with Depeche Mode's The Silence). I mean the list goes on and on but I hear the same stuff every time and I've seen him at four shows now!
*On a more positive note, the light show tonight was one of the best I've seen at Eleven50! Bravo to whoever was at the controls.
*Lastly, props goes out to the old dude who was dancin' it up on the box. I was cracking up the whole time he was up there! Hilarious! |

Mr pink here....im too drunk and lazy to walk down the hall to my room, but check it out.....i can't believe this man didn't spin "Dont wake up Policeman"!
I am a sucker for reggae, especially reggae a la EDM:eyespop:
But oh well, at least you got to meet some peeps in the TA groupation.
I suggest you chill more often and meet the rest of us, buddy ;)
hopefully you go to Seb Fontaine, cuz i won't be missing that one:cool:

Well, he did layer the vocals over the Depeche Mode track that I mentioned (just like he did on halloween) but I don't think they sound good together at all. I just wish he'd play the original 'Don't Wake Up Policeman' track.
As for meeting more of you, I figured more TA's would be out last night. It's all your fault!!! But I definitely want to meet as many TA's as possible so keep me posted when y'all go out. |

Well, i suppose i'm in the minority cause I loved it... This was my first time for Junkie and he spun some wicked tracks....some of which i've not gotten to hear in a club over the years... simply put, it was a really great feel good set...very upbeat and uplifting and just a great dancing set... Felt like an oldschool rave...
But, i feel you guys that have seen him a bunch... new material is always welcome....nonetheless, it was a GREAT birthday set...
Thanks to scott and leeann for taking me out... and Asai for coming with us!
Also, good to meet you Greg...you're a standup guy and I'm looking forward to gettin to know you more AND hearin you spin cause I'm DJ WHOREEEEEEEEE...:whip: |
