Hy!
I have a following problem with jp-8000:
When i push&hold SHIFT button and turning knob BASS on LCD sometimes interfere values for cutoff freq.
Not always, that depends on position of cutoff, if cutoff on zero then are values on lcd just for bass.
Hope that u understand the problem.
So once again, as i turns BASS knob, sometimes just for a second and less shows on lcd other value, for ex. "FLT CUTOFF FREQ" instead of BASS CTRL.
Can that be software problem?
I got 1.02 ver.
Thanks! |

I would think that would be somthing wrong with the electronics, perhaps take it to Roland for a service...theres no reason you should have any cutoff value change when you touch the bass pot.
Just for the record, I tried it on my JP-8080 and it only says "TONE CTRL BASS" and occasionally "TONE CTRL TREBLE" but only if my fingers slips off the bass pot onto the treble pot, lol |

To be sure if a hardware faillure try disconnecting the midi in/out cables and reset the JP to the factory preset.
Upgrade the OS i think is not good option i heard really problems when the ppl try to update the OS. Also roland dont publish the bugs corrected in the last version (1.5 for the JP-8000, i dunno for the rack version).
Maybe the faders need a clean. :p
btw u can use the test mode (press "OSC2 SYNC" + Filter Type + Filter -12). Now press MidiSW to make the A/D test and check all pots and faders.
i hope i can help. |

Hm, i tried to do all that, potentiometers are ok, in test mode A/D mode, when turning knobs then i hear buzzy sound, is that normal?
That stands for all knobs, when is selected knob or left or right fully, then no that buzzy sound... |

Is normal, u can hear the buzzy sound when the pot are between -63, 0 and +62.
i really dont know about your problem, try to find somewhere the new features of the new OS.
Btw nobody in this forum have the JP-8080 with the OS 1.02 and the same problem?
Good Luck! |
