anyone know what type of program i need so i can use '.cue' file?
swisstoni_uk
a Cue file is usually used to "split" an image of some kind, be it a sound file or clone of a cd. They're used by CD Burning Software to split the image into its appropriate parts. A Mix CD for instance, might have a cue file, or a DJ Set, to split the Individual tracks.

A Cue is just a simple text file with the neccessary info to split them.

i dont mean a cue sheet/file. i mean the end of the file is called .cue like .txt .dwg or .jpg same idea as that.

im not sure if i understood your question correctly, but you can use notepad to edit any .cue file. check out cuesheet heaven (http://www.regeert.nl/cuesheet/) for cues for livesets, etc. that way you can listen to those great essential sets with track breaks but no sound gaps. burning programs such as nero allow you to load a .cue file, thus utilizing the info in the .cue file.

I do it in a different way. I go to Nero, then go into Nero Burning Rom, then Select Audio CD and click on open. And voila!

Warning: It takes quite some time for the cue sheet to load, so even though it seems like Nero just froze, it doesn't. Sometimes it takes up to 10 minutes to load it so just wait it out. Closing all other applications helps alot as Nero almost consumes all the RAM when opening the cue sheet.
