.nfo files are essentially a ms-text document with the extension 'nfo' at the end. get it? nfo....info. hehe. open them up w/ wordpad.
tranceDJ
I think they give information (info..nfo) on the track they come with. They can be opened in Wordpad I think so you can look at the info which usually includes the ripper, release information, etc.

sometimes double-clicking on them doesn't help, windows will say the file is corupt. either rename it to .txt (which will not affect it in anyway) or open the Word editor and with it the file.

they're pretty useful files, especially when U get cracks or carcked software, it helps U figure out what to do (I've seen a lot of pirated software, with various ways of installing, and sometimes intelligence is not enough, U also need some "hints")

and... u see all that illegible bull? change the font to terminal and it all become clear.. ;)

WOWOWOWOOW right on! thank for the rest of the replies...

oh a quick shortcut is hold down shift and right click on the .nfo file and you'll see an "open with" dialog. Click on it and get it to run in notepad. Voila!!

BTW that can be used for any files so u can force an mp3 to open in a different program etc etc

just to add on to what tranzmit was saying. you can also change what programs to open what kind of files under the folder options > file types tab.
