Been a while since i did anything so decided to do something new, got the inspiration from a rock tune for the melody and kinda just went with that. Now im sort of stuck! Its prog trance with tech trance elements to it which is kinda my 2 preferred styles atm so wanted to incorporate them together. Dont know whether i should use wot i have as the main premise of the track now or as an intro and to expand the melody it something else for the main breakdown.
So with all that taken into account, i want to know wot peoples opinions are on wot i have here and also where to take this to create the full track.

EQ sounds top notch so far, cept for the synth/strings at the beginning which seem a bit too loud and overpowering (too much dec on reveerb ?)
I like how the bassline drives the track.
Although, imo, the bassline could be better by changing a few notes towards the end of the bassline (I can send you an example via an flp file if you'd like).
Same with the lead...(Don't know if you gonna add another or "Main" lead to the track at mid point...?)
I like the idea so far, it gets to the point...
A repetitive but yet catchy n' funky bassline & lead, imo, may blend well with this track and its structure.
I'll give you an idea on FL and send u the file.

Hey.
-Good intro synth. Its very spacey and sets the mood quite well for an uplifting track :).
-Good effects they meld well into the percussion line that comes in. Good drive.
-Good bassline. Its deep and solid though a bit quiet but thats good for this track. If it were any louder, I'm afraid it would make the track muddy but it would be best to have an good counter-bassline thats more audible (as in higher frequencies).
-Good rhythm synths. They work well in the intro. The distorted squares are good too but they are a little overdone. Turn the volume of them down just a bit so they are similar in audible loudness to the rest of the synths.
-Just a sample, ok.
Overall, this track has some decent potential. I was a little disapointed the track didnt pick up during that sample but I think I could hear it getting there :). Too make it pick up a little more, a good line of hats is needed. One pattern where there are 4 off beat hats per mesaure (quarter note off if you will) and then another pattern that uses the same or a similar sounding but much where theres a measure of solid 16th note hats. Itll create a strong drive for the oncoming synths that will show up later in the track :). I look forward to hearign the rest of the track.
Grade A
Edit: Just read your post lol. If you are looking for some real-time help with it you can drop me a line. ([email protected]) I have all of the mainstream messengers but prefer MSN :). As for some help here, a good compliment to what you have is a spanish guitar. The way the track flows makes it sound like there should be one. A few other elements I was looking for with this particular track was some explosive sounds, like strong punches with pads. Anyway, if you need it, I can manage to help you with whatever you need :).
