funny! I'm an Everton fan, but I think Liverpool should have the chance to defend their title...just not at the expense of Everton, who qualified justly by the rules laid out before the season.

What UEFA should do is realise their system, as it stands now, has a minor fault. Just give Liverpool a special exemption and let's be on our way about it.

Liverpool deserve to be in it next season to defend their trophy but Everton deserve to b there too.

dont remember what team exectly but Real Madrid took the place of some spanish team a few year back after they had won it and didnt qualify for the next season

To put Liverpool in you have to take a team out. Getting to the Champions League is what can make or break teams financially, the group stage alone is worth millions to every participant. Whoever you took out would be incredibly angry and rightly so. Imagine that was your team!

Liverpool have a good case, but the Premier League has been very poor this season and there are no excuses for failing to finish in the top 4. Bolton finished 6th!

It was Zaragoza. And after that UEFA changed the rule that european champion would qualify to next season's CL.

Why do they have to take another team out??

They could let Liverpool qualify

evil_bastard
Even that would require taking someone out of the qualification rounds, surely? Like Everton?

then they would have to add another team for Liverpool to play against
Plus, there would then be one group in the Champions League with an extra team
