Technically they don't.
At least not at the time of the injection; it already is in advance.
When you open a package for a new needle well the package is sterile.

| I don't know if they sterlise the needle, but i know they swap the spot for injection with alcohol. Pretty useless if you ask me. As Robin Williams said, are they affraid he might die because of an infection before the execution. |
