| been getting into alot of Deathchant, Rebelscum, etc type stuff. Really just looking for the same style stuff. been really liking alot of stuff like Hellfish & Producer - Toilet Wars (has elements of breakcore, which is a genre which ive been active in for a while now). I really cant do the cheesy kind of stuff. i dont want anything even remotely close to hardhouse. Just really dark, pounding, hectic tracks! Just looking for some stuff closer to this kind of sound. im really just not in the mood to go on a discogs adventure atm, id just like some quick recommends for the day :D |

Mostly I am not into that kind of music, but this is really good.
It's a mixture between Dutch gabba/hardcore, acid and techno.
You might like it... |

I really like UK hardcore, like Bonkers stuff, Scott Brown, Hixxy, Dougal, Sharkey ect. Its amazing.
The only problem is that it seems I'm the only non-chav that really likes it so I don't want to go to any of the events cos they're full of cockheads. The last time we went to one (in Milton Keynes - never going to that hole again) my mate got dropkicked by some chav head for no reason then ran off and his behind a massive crowd of his equally headed mates. |

I doubt he was soliciting Happy Hardcore, however. |

They are most certainly not uk hardcore or breakcore. I'd put them in the socalled "darkcore" category myself, of the Enzyme Recs./industrial-ilk. It is quite good stuff though, make no mistake. Most of their outings and everything else on Genosha is, as long as you can put up with the rather low BPM count.
Speedfreak is german so he doesn't really qualify, though I guess his sound is compatible with the sound H&P have been pushing. Then again, you could say the same about Promo and all of Third Movement..
Liza n Eliaz from Belgium does not quite qualify either, as legendary as she is. She got signed to Mokum and Bonzai among others, both of which do not do breakcore nor UK hardcore the way Hellfish & Producer do it nowadays.
Some of the biggest breakcore connaiseurs for me would have to be DJ Scud, Aphasic and the rest of Ambush Recs. collective. Get Mash The Place Up, which is a great introduction to it. |

messytechie, i really appreciate the help, but thats definatly not what im looking for. thanks though.
liking that track 303 Abuse - Approach Phase, Igor :D (a bit ing hectic though lol)
havn't listened to alot of the other artists, couple tracks here and there, or not at all. Im very familier with Alec Empire and Speedfreak though. :p
Thank you aswell Sand Leaper. :)
I know of DJ Scud, but only from ordering his album 'Ambush!' on Rephlex. I liked alot of that style, but it didn't do as much for me back then as it probably would now. I'll take closer gander at some of his other stuff when I can. :)
As for breakcore, thats something I've been listening to for a while now, going to alot of shows around Vancouver and such, but mostly listening to alot of the tamer artists (Xanopticon, Spark, UndaCova, Dino Felipe, etc). So yeah, just basically looking for the harder side of breakcore, on the edge of hardcore...specifically the UK sound that Hellfish has...
if that makes any sense...lol
anyway, great stuff so far, really liking what i hear. i really appreciate it :) |
