I had to miss him yet again. Demi always seems to come on bad weekends.

So how was it?

Oh my! You definitely missed out, he was soooooo good! Towards the end I was dancing on achy feet yet it was impossible for me to leave. *shakes fist* Damn you Demi for being so good!

Got there just before 2 to find Sean doing an unexpected deep house set - the perfect way to get things warmed up. For his final hour he picked up the tempo and delivered trademark Miller tunes, it had everyone dancing and eagerly anticipating the next dj.

Demi started at 4 with Mylo's "paris 400" and quickly moved into grooving house tunes. I really enjoyed whatever track was dropped at 5:10, male vocals saying something like "clap your hands to the bass" (i.d. anyone?). Also heard Styx - "mr. roboto" (Martin Villeneuve remix) and a very tribally remix of Technotronic's "pump up the jam" (quite possibly the Gian's Crowd is Jumpin Mix).

Great flow of house, tribal, funky fun tracks with a tad of techy disco thrown in. The crowd was totally into it, the place was very full and didn't noticeably thin out til after 7.... when there were still ~100 people left. Things ended at 9:15 with Demi joining the die-hard faithful on the dancefloor for the final track.

That was easily one of the best Demi sets I've seen and the crazy madman grinning behind the decks looked like he could have happily kept things going til noon.

wow....i totally had a different take on the night. I don't know if it was because i was a little under the weather or what, but i just wasn't feeling his set at all. Sean was on point as usual, starting off with a little sexy lounge flavour, then getting a little techy and finishing off with classic Miller deep house. When Demi came on I was super pumped because every other time I've seen him he was just flawless, but about an hour into the set i just couldn't get into it. From the times I've seen him I think he really feeds off the crowd and it didn't seem that the majority of people weren't there for him or the music, just to get twisted. Like i said, this could've just been because I myself wasn't 100%, and he did pump it but it wasn't my favorite set from the man.

What an amazing night. Once again proof why Boa is and will always be my favourite club in Toronto!

Started the night out at my place having a few drinks, getting myself ready for a wild night at Boa. Tristan and I got to Boa around 11:30. There was only a few of us there, so I decided hey why not have a vodka Redbull. Well one turned into about 6 and before I knew I was tered lol The music was wicked in the lounge, he didn't hesitate dropping bombs from the beginning. I believe it was Brent H but i could be wrong. I stayed down there till about 2:15 then decided to go upstairs and check out Sean Miller.

This was the first set by him I had ever really heard, and he did not dissapoint! I can totally see why he is opening for Lawler on his lights out tour. Those people are gonna enjoy big time! He was dropping awesome deep house tunes, and started to work it up around 3 to get us all ready for a dirty demi set! At one point we were just dancing on the floor and I swear people were feeding off the TA energy:).

Now to Demi, front the first track to the last, he was dropping bombs left right and center. I loved the pump up the jam remix he played, so tribally and dirty!:p He has so much energy behind the decks, it's awesome! The crowd didn't really seem to be there for him, but I was hehe. I could not stop clapping and cheering the man on. His track selection was incredible as usual. Definately my favourite Demi set so far, I hope he recorded it:D

It all ended shortly after 9 and I thanked the man for the wicked set. Got my jacket and was on my way home. All in All wicked night. Nice meeting everyone that night! Wicked talking to you Jeff, I still can't believe we haven't chatted before! See you all next week at Saeed, get ready for tribal mayhem! :thepirate

I was not feeling Demi's set at all.

Now as for Sean Miller, well he should be the lead star dj of the night. He's incredible! Really looking forward to his extended set. He never plays crappy tracks.

why is everyone hating on Demi's set? I thought it was fan ing tastic lol he played his usual style, extremely proggy... so if you don't really like proggy house you definately will not enjoy his set. he always switches thru a lot of different house styles, perhaps another reason you didnd't enjoy.

it's that whole deal i was telling you about yesterday.. tunes were great, but when he switches "bass on/bass off" it seriously alters the flow of the set.. some people have trouble feelin' that (i am one of them) and IMO Demi just does this a little too much for me to really get into a groove.

the tunes he played were unbelievable tho. Hayward downstairs was wicked as well, but Sean Miller stole the show - that set was just pure throw your hands in the air good times..

still haven't figured out what that crazy remix track's name is :(
(tried to hold off posting until i found it)

this night was crazy.. lots of crazy things happened.. all in all a wonderful night out @ Boa again..

that's fair... it could be because i was so damn hammered from all the vodka and redbulls, and then the gin prior to going that i didn't notice lol

i'm sure there are people who do enjoy that type of "tweaking", but like i told you about that 2nd last track... no treble just killed that song for me.. (it's that track with the female vocal.. "Ecstasy..." that's on Masiello's WMC essential mix) and it throws me off when I'm dancing.. I prefer more fluid sets..
