Well actually a couple of years ago, Paul Oakenfold came to San Antonio with D:Fuse and a few other people and that was held at the Far West Rodeo (aka Cowboy) We have had some good Dj's come to S.A. but I think most of them do go to Dallas, Houston, & Austin as you mentioned. Antro is kind of small club but I heard that when ATB came last weekend that the place was not even packed beyond belief. I guess the true test is to see if it can hold Oakenfold & Deep Dish. But I think Oakenfold and Deep Dish = way bigger crowd than ATB, but I am not going to put my foot in my mouth this time....So I will wait and see the turn out. But if I remember correctly Antro also did the same thing with Dj Tiesto. They printed a bunch of flyers a couple months in advance saying that Dj Tiesto was coming to Antro but as the date got closer Tiesto cancelled at Antro and ended up playing at Far West (aka Cowboy) I would not be surprised if this happens again. Either way as long as they arrive.:thepirate |

| Oakenfold & D:Fuse played October 29, 2004 at Planeta Barrio in San Antonio (I was there). & San Antonio got Felix in April. |

Two things. First off, Antro is a relatively big club for these parts. A good crowd at Antro is a comfortable 1200, but some really popular shows in the past have pulled 1800 people (sardine scenario). Not only that, but the way in which it is laid out, it allows for more of the crowd to interact with the performers, thanks to the wide open space downstairs, including the dancefloor, and then the wrap around balcony upstairs. You don't get that with a lot of clubs, simply because of their layout most of the time.
Regarding the Tiesto gig in SA last year, he didn't cancel on Antro and get booked at Far West Rodeo. Red Line was running the show the whole time, and as Antro is their usual venue for shows, that was where they planned to have Tiesto perform. Down the track they moved the show to Far West (Cowboys) so that the Tiesto gig coincided with their annual 'Fashion & DJ Expo', which meant a bigger crowd and the need for a bigger venue. Anywho, Red Line was behind booking Tiesto the whole time, so besides the screw up with the fliers, everything pretty much went to plan. |
