Airport complaints/Horror Stories?

So... just got done with the DEMF... it was a great time, maybe to good of a time, and that's why I'm here at the Detroit Metro Airport, hours early for my flight, bored out of my skull, and cracked the out... I said it was a good weekend ;)
So, who wants to share their bad experiences in airports to help me pass the time?
Worst for me is easily Chicago Midway Airport when I was heading to Florida for WMC/Ultra two years ago. I get into the airport, head to my terminal, and see literally 300 very warm, very agitated people waiting for a flight to LA that had been delayed indefinitely... My flight to Florida was to leave from the same gate... My flight to Florida was delayed, at first an hour, then 3 hours, then indefinitely... 21 hours later, I was on the plane, finally ready to depart... We head to the runway, stuff begins happening, I think we're taking off, and then, nothing.
"We're sorry folks, we're going to have to head back to the gate as we're experience mechanical problems with the plane."
Flight Cancelled... Next available flight, 12 hours later, and from O'Hare...
The Airline ended up paying me some loot, and covering my transportation etc. to and from O'Hare, but this was still easily the longest day and a half of my life...
And the Detroit Metro Airport is not a fun place BTW... :p |

| I was flying down to Cabo once, with a layover in San Diego. We waited eleven hours in an airport because there was a really, really tiny yet very important piece from the plane that was missing. They had to fly it in from another airport. Good times. |

nothing to crazy but suckege
i was passing costumes to get into ATL and the guy is like.. just follow that man...
im like ok wtvr probably checkin my passport etc...
then they are like
GUY :"sir, what are you doing here.....?"
ME: "the guy told me to follow u so i did"
GUY: dont get smart with me what are you doing in the country?
ME: :wtf: i wasnt being smart i was answering your question. im coming home from vacation
GUY: ok whats your name? :d
Me: mario
2 hours later :(
guy:sir whats your name gain? just making sure u didnt maike it up and forgot
me :

me: WTF! *goes and gets bags and comes back cause he has my passport*
come back.... look for him
Guy: open ur bag sir....
me:ok wtvr.. open it
guy: i like your clothes
me :can i just go, i dont care what you think of my fashion.
guy :ok bye have a good day :D
im like.... WTF
it sucked... 4 hour plane ride... 2 hour in sercurity room... 2 hours before the plane ride wating in airport
=8 hours of suckege |

What kind of costumes? The US is strongly against letting in people with French maid costumes... or... for that matter... Osama costumes. |

Edit*/ As we were waiting in line, an announcement was made that there would be lack of seating. My family and I all wanted to sit together. We were told it probably wouldn't happen. We were then asked whether or not we would like staying at a hotel in the present city with dinner and accomodations paid for due to us not having available seating, then proceed out the following day. It only resorted in a big, overblown, stressed flareup among us all in front of the manager haha. I guess he felt bad or unsafe and let us on the flight with 3 free travel vouchers for our next trip on Southwest. |

worst was getting at Tower air terminal in New York for return to Europe. Arrived 2 hours before take off when international flights close out at the time was around 2 1/2 hours or something.
This was my parents and me.
Flight overbooked to hell. We get told to come the day after; flight even more overbooked. Come another day again and there we get a straight answer " We can confirm you a seat for the 15th of september " or something along these lines mind you it was around the 20th of august. Quite lame.
We ended up leaving New York after the forced visit. Driving to jersey with a rental car staying a day or so and ending up finding a flight out of Newark for around 900 bucks for the 3 us with Swissair.
Ironically the most confortable flight I've ever been on! ( And that's a lot to say considering I've flown cross atlantic more times then I can count ).
I guess it came out to maybe 1600$ dollar lost just with the new purchased ticket the car and hotel. Just because we got stuck state side for 4 days or so.
Oh and we never got refunded for the tickets from Tower Air.
Tower Air went out of business a year or so later due to outstanding complaints and poor business practices.

And I hope you got a lot out of that deal with your trip to Florida being delayed to hell. When in airports and somethings wrong you must act like the meanest motherf*cker on earth with the airlines and they will bend over backwards and give you a blowjob to boot just to make sure you're satisfied. Cash vouchers, free airplane tickets, hotel accomodations, taxi vouchers etc etc you name it you can get it if you want it! |

Yeah... they hooked up the price of the tickets in Cash (Somewhere around $500...), and hooked up vouchers for my hotel in Miami... so it was worth it in the end... but 36 hours in Chicago airports alone = the balls... |

| One time I had to take a short flight & I actually boarded a prop plane from outside rather than a terminal. During take off it was easy to tell the plane didnt have too much power. Once we were in the air I decided to turn my reading light on & the plane slowed down & the pilot told me to turn it off. |
