OHHH MAN, I know what that's like, I've been to parties where Dj's did the exact same thing, Vibekiller is such a proper term :o
I'm thinking that this guy who was DJing good for the 1st hour, then started to lose it, might be because he just clearly doesn't have the stamina to go for more than his bedroom 1-hour practice set. Maybe he rehersed the whole 1st hour and had no idea what was happening when he found out he had longer :stongue: |

| I have seen one DJ playing with only one player, because he was so drunk (or on x) he didn't manage to play with two players. He asked me how to use the mixer, too many knobs he hadn't seen before.. I think his DJ career ended that night:haha: |

Most of them don't know what its like to play in front of 1000 club go'ers. Nerves do play a big factor. Every time I've played in front of a big crowd (over 1000), my hands tremble when i put the 1st record on. But once that happens it all starts flowing.

Here is something worse.I had stopped the music in a club while i was dj'ing and put the track from the beginning (behold the backward button,lol :D ).Yeah it's kind of embarassing but happens,the point is to win the crowd after that.I was lucky enough to win it and they enjoyed both the mixing (after that :D ) and the tunes themselves.After all we are humans and we make mistakes.The point is not to freeze and correct them ASAP ;) |

ive seen dave seaman trainwreck twice in the same set :haha:
and once while i was playing, the CD kept on skipping at the end of the track (the part where im supposed to start mixing) so obviously it was impossible to beatmatch :nervous:
what i did was, i stopped the track that was playing then i played Sontec - Black Sun and of course the crowd went wild :disbelief
tracks with a dope intro r always handy when like that happens :D |

i was in the exact same position, and it was not a pleasure to beatmatch but it made me even better because i just had to adjust to it. the floor boards where shakey as, its like you beatmatch it people go crazy dancin and then you mix totaly gets fuc#%^ by about
+- 3 beats.
not a happy chappy, but overall the night was awsome and was happy with track selection.
im like hey you stop runin and jumpin, even the bloody security guards were jumpin off the stage and making it hell for me.
i closed with cirez d - control freak (not the only good tune i played) and people were just gettin really groovy but they got to groovy and i had to tell em to stop shaking the floor, it didnt sound to good. |

at Tiësto In Concert 2 in the Ethias Arena Hasselt, the sound system had some kind of failure, and the music stopped in the middle of Skin - Faithfulness (DJ Tiësto Remix) for almost 3 minutes!
Tiësto was turned with his back to the booth (choosing next record i think), and when the music dropped out, he turned around and was like huh? :conf:
now that was funny :D
well, MC Stretch managed the silence very well, by letting the crowd sing "Seven Nation Army" of the White Stripes al together :) |

those stupid s think that every bad-in-the-ear sound is dj's fault...in ignorants...
my opinion: something was wrong, because he played fine for 1 hour, maybe the cd player skiped, that's enough to up your beatmatch and your mood....
btw, download the mayday 2000 video (paul van dyk's set)...and see how nervous he is...he did a great mix!!! |
