Hey guys,

What is the best area to stay in London that is convenient and safe? I wanted to check out the tourist stuff like Buckingham Palace and be able to easily go out at night to the clubs.

Thanks!

It would really help me to know areas and prices. That way I can comparison shop :)

I'm also wondering how long it takes to train from London to Birmingham and if there is an easy way to go to Heathrow from Birmingham

Thanks!

Check out Dj O'Callaghan's tourist thread, I've found that it's really helpful...I'm still going through it all.

Another New Yorker in London! When are you going? I'm going in November.

I've been going through it. I've found some answers... I was hoping to see a event calendar somewhere as opposed to looking at individual clubs listings.... Thanks! ;) Coming up at end of July.

The train from London is from Euston station i think to birmingham. It'll take about 1hr and 30 mins and is the quickest and most convinient way. You can also get a coach, but they are slow.

I don't believe that there is any direct link from Heathrow to birmingham, although there might be a coach service :conf: you'd most probably have to catch the Tube to Euston and go from there.

And the best place to stay in london that is convinient and safe? As long as you stay away from East, South East and North East london then you'll be fine :stongue:

Central london is the most convinient, but will cost quite a bit. South West and west london is a bit further out, but a lot more chilled than central, but wiil also cost you a fair bit.

Yes. I know :) Thanks for the advice. I will keep hunting on my own. Hope to run into some of you while I'm out there.

Buckingham Palace

Knock on the front door & ask for Liz, she should sort you out with some accomodation for the night

Kind of depends on how nice of a place you want to stay in as well. There are some hostels near Victoria Station that are pretty decently priced.

LOL...Hey! wasn't there a guy, several years ago, who broke into Buckingham Palace a couple of times and had a conversation with the Queen herself.:wtf:
