So for a while now I've been losing respect and love for Oakie - mostly cause I didn't like what he played, or he trainwrecked everything, or his attittude, or whatever...
But I just listened to the first half of his Dance Department mix for Queen's Day...and WOW! Holy crap! It's excellent!!!!
He started redeeming himself in my opinion last year during Global Gathering (at the guv) where he played a GREAT set...but this mix just blows my mind. It's very summer-time chill - very ISOS like...now I can't wait to listen to the second half of it :D |

Kinda behind the times Starsearcher, but thats ok.
Its a decent mix, some awsome tunes, but there is still something missing. I guess cause its hacked to bits it just doesnt feel complete.
btw - the first part of that mix, the first 30min, is from another set, dance department just added it on. |

haha, thats ok, you havent missed much. Im as big an Oakey fan, as you are a Tiesto fan.
For the last year, its been all the same tunes, pretty sad actually. That set he played here last NOvember(i think) was great, but it was the exact tracklist he played everywhere else.
For somebody who im sure gets loads of promo's, its a sad effort, to be playing the same 10-15 tracks for over a year.
The strangest thing though is, that for his weekly radio show, he would come up with great tracks, which just never made it into the live shows.
Hopefully he takes it up a notch this year. when he is on, nobody can touch him. |

Oakey's Orange Hours is -very- good.
I listened to it on the way into work (after listening quite a bit last week as well) and it is top notch. |

The last 20 minutes (less the 4 mins for adagio) are fantastic. |
