I would've tased her again.

Is this the one where the dumb bitch is sitting in her car and talking on the phone while the officer is telling her to get out? Yea I would say it's justified, but then again I'd do much worse to people that dumb.
Shakka
Yup. That's the one.

Ofcourse it's not justified. It's police brutality (mild in this case, but then again, I've never been tased so I can't say how mild it was).

Wow, if you attempt to watch it in context (which I'm not sure it is the full context on the site as they cut time) it does appear completely unjustified.

The officer was did not follow many procedures which could have prevented the escalation of this event.

What is clear in this event is that the women simply did not believe the officer was an officer, and he did come out of an unmarked car.

In many cases smart women (which this tased-women was clearly not) typically call back the police for confirmation to know if the car that just pulled them over is actually a police unit or an imposter before pulling over.

However to dispell her fears the officer should have presented her with his badge number, and badge, and the ability to confirm his authenticity (or have a reconginzable squad car pull up to conifrm his identity).

I'm unclear why the officer ordered her also to step out of the car, as her traffic violations do not I believe warrant an arrest. This obviously would put her at greater concern.

Then again, I don't blame him for tazing her:p Wish I could do that in my job sometimes...

Well, the woman was being a prick, but still..the guy could have waited with using his taser. Geez, he was so fussed up about it like he just caught bin Laden himself, the woman just broke the speed limit ffs.

The busted tail light, cracked windshield and lack of seatbelt were icing on the cake. See what you get when you sass the authorities?!

She was driving an SUV. It was justified.

it appears perfectly justified.

these procedures are?

no he shouldn't have.

the officer believed they did, because they do.

2 good size cops against 1 woman. The cop wanted to use his new toy.

No, if she would have resisted after given enough time to be aware of the situation and understanding the consequences it would have been justified. But by then there should have been another officer at the scene.

Well the officer should have called for back-up when she was resisting, and given her more time to comprehend the situation.

Understanding that the women is terrified (hell, she's guilty with 3+ traffic violations), heart is racing, and she is having trouble comprehending the situation would help. Her heart-beat was racing, and she is incomprehensive to the situation around her.

Hell, my heart-beat jumps up at least 125 bpm evertime a cop just flashes his lights on in my rear-view mirror, regardless if I am actually speeding or not.

The officers should have told her to turn off the car (if it wasn't, which is one claim).

By that point if the women still refused to exit her vehicle, by golly, go ahead and taze her.

From my understanding of her tone when she speaks those words there is great deal of doubt, whether it is doubt that the police can arrest her ,or whether it is doubt that he is police I can not discern.

no he shouldn't have.

Well if the officer was about to arrest her (which I am still unclear of), it might have been a good idea to tell her that.

Therefore she would know she is not resisting an officer, but resisting arrest. It would also be wise to read her her rights very soon.

I'm pretty sure that unless a suspect is fleaing, the officer must annouce that he is going to arrest you.

But I don't believe the officer did any of these things.

Basically though, if he would have given both her and him more time to think he could have avoided this, but he was lazy and probably pissed off because his wife didn't give him any last night or some other mundane reason.
