I only djed once for a party and I managed to miss a few beats. Didn't look too good for my first time. Anybody has good stories to share?

knocked the arm across a couple of grooves b4 by accident durin a mix - the result was 100 galloping horses and a red faced DJ

this wasn't at a party, but it was pretty bad. I was spinning my Traffic picture disc, enjoying the little mountain spinning around, when i suddenly decided "Hey!! I'm gonna' twirl my record around my finger like Tijs did at TIC!!!" Moments later, it slipped from my finger to the tonearm, ripping my beloved picture disc :( Oh well, the music stopped, no records were harmed, (horribly) so i just turned my amp off, put the records away, and ran out of the room as quickly as possible :D

No major ones myself, but I was chatting to a guy who was teaching me stuff and he was playing in Barcelona I think it was to 20,000 people and had a bit to drink....

took off the last record he mixed out and all of a sudden the music just stopped.... what could it be?

...ohh wait wrong record!!!!

He shat himself, then composed himself then did what any great DJ does in a situation like this looks pissed shrugged his sholders, i.e. blames the system :p

this is not my train wreck, nor was it the dj's fault...

the club will remain nameless. night was going well, and with 30 minutes to go music shuts down, everyone starts booing and yelling. the two dj's look stressed and start to freak out...no power to the setupd, the promoters are coming down and yelling...what could be wrong...well the amature that setup the booth, put all the equipment into the same plug through an extension cord. the cord was extending from the booth, across a stage (for about 5 m)...of course people had to be up there to dance...this little blond who was literaly naked sitting down close to the plug...she sees the cord and decided to see what it does, so she pulls it out of the plug.

as i said, not my train wreck, but it was fun to attend it.

my story: played in a club where the system was real loud, like piercing loud cuz the speaker stacks were pretty close to the booth. but behind so there was a delay. just stepped on, beatmatched the first tune in my fones just fine, started the mix and it was really off. fixed it live in a few seconds, but not before some minor wreckage. turns out the DJ before me turned off the monitors.....

not my story: Ferry Corsten @ Exit in NYC 2002...i think. in the middle of one of his tracks...(ligaya? can't remember), he picks up the needle accidentally. reaction in this order: :conf: :eyes: :happy2:

think he was a bit drunk by then. but was a damn fun night.

my friend skipped to the next track on the wrong cd. kinda funny.

I was getting really into the mix at a party I had and was fiddling with the EQ's in mid mix. I got the incoming track all the way in and did a little overdramatic EQ turn and brought my hand back down across the mixer and accidentally pulled the fader on the incoming channel down as well.
