Mixer question 4 u ----->

In the Armin Van Buuren - Live at Eau vid, What type of mixer was he using? Numerous times I tried pausing it to see the brand or any other type of indentification, but I couldn't. How much would it cost too?

I have been into trance for a couple of years, but never really entertained the idea of getting a mixer and messing around with it till recently. My buddy is into the , but he is mainly into hip-hop and scratching, thats cool and all, but i'm starting to think we would use a mixer or look for 1 with certain features for different reasons.

I've checked out a couple of web sites like www.djmart.com and... , i forgot the others. The Vestax and the Numark caught my eye the most. I wanna spend no more than $500 or $600. Can any of u guys give me any opinions or recommendations from the mixers that u personally have and use?
-->thanx<--

At club eau in the netherlands they use Dateq mixers, i know that they have in club eau in arhem they use the GPM 8.3 (approx 4600 guilders excl tax = $2200 incl tax), and i guess they use the same in the heague. For more info check dateq

BTW, Liquid, that vid I downloaded off this site and I think swamper took it down to make room for others. If u have a FTP or an address I can upload too, I'd be glad to help u out.

what? you mean used right? the DJM500 goes for $1099 american suggested retail. I may have seen it a bit lower but..

by the time I convert it into canadian, pay shipping and duty.. I'm looking at $1500. even more for the DJM600,

you can download that video on the videos page at this site.

Dateq kicks ass. Great eq's. Not enough volume on the headphones though. Check out Ecler too. Those are the best mixers in my opinion, but they are quite expensive.

BTW, Djskylz: aren't the dateq mixers the same as Rodec mixers except for the name?
djskylz
I don't know it exactly, but I only know that dateq is a dutch brand and rodec is a belgium brand. The faders are the same (ALPS), but i guess the other electronics arent the same (check the size of both mixers, the dateq's are only 10 cm high, and the rodecs are 15 cm high).

i own a numark pro sm2...this mixer quite simply kicks ass...ive had 2 others b4...i used to own a vestax pmc 170a, and an old 4 channel gemini. the gemini and vetax were good because of the 4 & 3 channels they offered. the numark kicks ass because of the new crossfader technology. this is the lightest and must easy to use crossfader ive ever tinkered with. the sound quality is EXCEPTIONAL. ive read some complaints over the web that some people heard click sounds when they flipped the fader from one end to the other....i have not encountered this problem in the year or so that ive owned it. the eq'ing is extremely tight, the crossfade slope is good for long drawn out mixes as well as short click type cuts (via 3way adjustable slope output curve...)

id say buy this mixer if your good for the $400-500. you wont find better sound quality and dj friendly design like it, in this price range...
