So I might be buying a house in the Miami area. Just want to know the advantages and disadvantages of living in Miami? Thanks

Advantages: You know what they are ;) :p

Disadvanatges: Summers are a bitch; hurricanes, humidity. Traffic is becoming worse by the day. If you don't speak/understand spanish, good luck to you.

advantages - some very nice areas, that u need money to live in.

disadvantages - a lot of hole places and people, the traffik and heat.
FallingMoon
advantages: a lot to do and beaches!!
disadvantages: humidity+heat combined, TRAFFIC, and rude people.

it grows on you though...I've been here so damn long that I am accustomed to it.

If I were you.. Id look in the North East of Miami ( Miami Lakes, Sunny Isles, Aventura .. bla bla bla .. ) Pretty nice area with pretty much everything within 5 mins away from you.

Other would be Broward County.. thats a good place to settle in, if you want even better.. West Palm Beach, but that would have you far away from everything..

But if you still want Miami.. it all depends what area of Miami you are talking about.. is pretty big and it can have drastic changes in every sense of the word. One thing you wont escape though is.. Storms, Heat, TRAFFIC. A bitch,

i live on south beach, its expensive as , but well worth it. its so nice only having to walk 3-5 blocks to get to all the best clubs in miami (excpet space). parking does suck my dry though. on the weekends or holidays, forget about it. you might have to park like 10 blocks away from your house, just cuz theres no parking.

thats why its convenient to have a mo-ped scooter in south beach. u dont have to worry so much about traffik, and im sure there are plenty of places to park those small vehicles. everyone, it seems like has one.

any and everyone that has one of those things is queer. they are annoying as and everytime i see one i just wanna knock the person off it.

most people that drive those things are stupid tourists who have nothing better to do with their time.

south beach isnt big. you can walk anywhere. miami is huge though, and a scooter isnt enough to get you around.

and why are you posting in this thread? dont you live in tampa or some ?
