hey - need a bit of advice, i have 17days to find & buy a laptop but have no idea what brands are the go, hopeing someone on here has some knowledge on whats the go
it needs: wifi, decent graphics card, windows (ie not mac), not too heavy
any comments / suggestions would be muchly appreciated!

I like my laptops pretty small the ASUS M5N are pretty good

yeah was going to say asus, i have an ibm that has not failed me... t41p and it it *really* good... even for a pc. it has all sorts of ibm software to look after all the connectivity/wireless/power/bluetooth etc stuff. radeon and gigabit lan.. its def a nice one :)
but asus is what i was thinking about if i didnt get this one |

Im gonna go against the grain here and say stay the hell away from toshiba. Working in the tech field of all the laptops I have dealt with toshiba's have the most problems. On the upside they are usually cheaper, hence why many people buy them.
My recommendations:
go for a Dell, acer or HP. Dell is my personal fav of the bunch, they make great machines.
Go for a Centrino based laptop, they are awesome with battery usage and come with wireless standard. And for graphics card Id recommend the Radeon, 9700 or the newer x700. |

| HP's are generally very good notebooks! My sister has one and is extremely happy with it. |
