good to see all the irish trance fans here. you listen to my track dec? i can send it to you directly if link is not working properly

p.s. viba i sent you the mp3 directly check your email.

I haven't really been near a computer since Friday. Been enjoying the bank holiday weekend. Yeah send on the track to me alright. My address is [email protected]. I'll give it a listen alright tonight. If you get a chance have a listen to my work in progress. There's a link in my sig. There's some heavy arrangment and effects editing needed. But at least you'll get a flavour of it.

I'll post some constructive feedback so when I get a chance.

Later,

I'm flattered though. Anything he heard from me was ... well ... bad :o

Yeah he mentioned you put in some stuff for the Tune of the Month. He's fairly into his techno. I must have a listen to some of your stuff. I haven't really heard any other Irish trance. I'm going to get back to my music tomorrow once I've slept off the weekend's antics. Have a listen to my latest unfinished if you want. The link's in my sig. I've another in progress too that I must add to the link. I'm not at home at the moment so it'll probably be tomorrow.

Hey Danny!

Just listened to it now, I think it is one of your best productions up to date indeed. Bassline and percs are well balanced. I'm not sure about the kick, because it sounds a little bit flat, but it works.

Break is really nice, was a nice refreshment after some 2 mins of thumping beats :) It's atmosphere is different from what I'm usually liking to hear, but I was surprised it worked that well for me!

Basically, I think it's a very good mix. Though perhaps it still needs a few more melodical elements to go with.

Take care,
Wim

thanks for taking the time to listen to my track wim, i know your probably a very busy man these days. all feedback taken on board and hopefully my next track will be better. ;)

I still haven't gotten a listen. I downloaded onto the other computer in the house that I don't really use. I'll transfer it and give it a listen tomorrow. It's a quiet one tonight so I'll be grand for then. Must get my latest mix of my current track posted as well. It's good to hear Irish feedback.

thats no problem declan keep me informed of what you thought of it. had a quick listen to your track, production wise it seemed very solid would'nt be my style of music though :)

I listen through headphones, I dont like it to much. As if you used a fruity kick, really nothing happens in the intr. Than a little break comes with an ugly synth, and the intro continous, :(. Nothin happens, no fx, no chord-change, its realllly boring. All those cheezy uglys sounds, no i dont like this.
You probably dont produce for to long time. Its logical. Now the big break comes. Youve got the ideas, but you use much to ugly/ badly equed/cheezy sounds.
The climax, hmmmm, i dont like it, its not exploding, there is no melody.
Well dude, just keep on producing, lots of producing, and youll be better, thrust me!

thanks for comments moldano point about kick taken on board as everyone has mentioned same thing. cant help thinking you've been a little harsh otherwise.

for one i dont know how you can call this cheesey as one or two of those synths where due to the help of a well known producer who has had many a track signed and played on asot, so if this is cheesey your obvoiusly not into the armin style trance like i am. another thing is the continous pumping style intro is intentional its suppose to be a club track thats dj friendly, you may not like it but djs like beats to play a track.

i think i've seen well how the scene is going from listening to asots and its clear that most labels have moved away from the melodic style airbase trance that you must be after. dont get me wrong i love the melodic stuff too but its not getting released these days. think you need to stay up to date with scene.

first synth that comes in is probably not great i agree but i'm producing less than a year maybe twice a week and so it probably takes alot longer to perfect synth work. there is also lots of fx going on as too many fxs take away from tracks as you should know.

i have'nt seen you on this board before but you seem to know what your talking about from your comments, i'll be interested in hearing how good your stuff is as soon as you post it.
Moldano
First of all, everyone has his own oppinion. You must respect that. I maybe sounded a bit harsh, but I actually want to help you, because it's very difficult to get an release or something like that at the moment. I have been also much critised, and I learned from it, now I have an release, I'm improving every day more and more.
I had a few weeks ago my first release at Airmassmusic, so I know where I'm talking about. I'm also a big lover of ASOT, but the sounds you have used aren't yet from ASOT-height. You will be at that level, just if you'll produce a lot and take those critisims as a help!

Peace,

Moldano

Alright mate. How we doing. I still didn't get a listen to Signs from Deep Space. I spent the last few days before travelling doing all the last minute stuff so haven't near a computer til now. I'm in Singapore now so using a public computer. Yuck! Once I get settled in Oz (leaving in five hours) I must actually listen to the track. I'm a huge Armin fan so I'm certain I'll be interested in your work.

Anyways I gotta run but I'll be around soon enough. Us Irish trance producers gotta stick together. There's so few of us.

Laters, Decky.

i must agree with Moldano about the synthz

basdrum: i would use a kick that's more deep
bassline: try to combine some layers
(reason 3.0 has a nice thing called "combinator")

basdrum/bassline should feel like 1 line of music that fill's the lower frequencencees.

the only way to get there is to study more about synth creation.
i found a realy good one on isatrance forum about bassdrum/bassline.

percution/clabs are rather good! no peaks there.

melody .. try to make more complex stuff there m8t it gets a bit repetetive.. it doesnt bring a story..

that synth with some distortion on it is nice but must be combined with some other synty layers so you get a more smoothy effect..(and warmer feeling )

overall the key in reason 3.0 to make nice warm sound is just to combine more synth together use extreme panning and then eq them so they'll fit into the whole song..

keep up the work!

and goodluck with the remix of mindhunt
