miami TAs, im on my way

hey everyone, ill be on my way to miami for school at mdc north campus and then i plan on transferring to fau in boca. ill be down there to look at apartments and register for school june 13th - 19th. ill be with one other friend but we are driving down and staying with my aunt and unkle in boca in the woodfield county club.
ive got arrangements with a realitor to help me find an apartment, and im hoping it wont take but like 2 days to do. this is all new to me, being on my own for the first time and coming from a small town (paris and nicole came here for their simple life 2 thing). im familiar with boca real well. but ive never spent much time in miami, im kinda going into this thing blind not knowing 1 single person in miami except for family. ill have an apartment alone and of course ill want friends to hang out with, spin, do whatever. i was just wondering if anyone has any pointers or anything at all that could help me.
