| Yes. Saying "she deserved it" implies a punitive motivation. The only institution that is allowed to meter out punishment is the courts. The police have things like guns, tasers, pepper spray and batons to restrain people as a last resort. In this case I think they still had other options. Condoning the use of force in cases where police think the person "deserves it" would lead to disasterous consequences. |

the last resort is killing or shooting with a 9mm. the other things are to prevent the last resort.
