Well, is this event ever going to be one of the biggest shows of the year at Surface as Surface comes together with 7en Entertainment to bring you one of the worlds elite dj/producers from the Netherlands, MARCO V, voted 16th best dj in the DJ Mag top 100 list of 2004 and one of the worlds favs!! This was not an easy booking to obtain. But a booking that we knew Ottawa would definitely appreciate. There's no doubt that Marco is going to come and deliver one helluva solid set to the clubbers of Ottawa as we get set to welcome him on his forst voyage to our Nations Capital. We are extremely excited and very happy to finally get this giant to Ottawa and hope y'all enjoy this evening as much as we will!!

Since i was probably the only TA at this party......here is my mini review
Great opening set from the residents Ryan Dunlop and Joe Juarez....they layed down some sick beats
Marco V came on around 1:30......first couple of tracks he played were weird....as if he was trying to bridge the style of the previous DJ's into his own.....it did not work out too well IMO
after those couple of tracks......he proceeded to play what I can only describe as Tech-Tribal......awesome banging stuff.....never heard anything quite like it before
it took an hour for him to then start playing the hard Tech trance and tech-proggy stuff i was expecting.....he is really very skilled and had the people body surfing in the crowd (no kidding......body surfing!!!)
all in all, i am really happy i went...those in ottawa who missed it....you missed a great party |

| I didn't see anyone body surf! BUt it was a great time! Even a friend of mine who reluctantly went to the party cause his other plans got ed, and who loves hip hop etc was jumping to the beats! And it took a while but he played AUTOMANUAL and I think simulated as the last track! AMAZING CHOONS! 1:30am-4:30am i think he played! Good ! |
