Hi!
An unusual Question:
How do you see tracks if you known the artist personally?
Do you change your behavior or the view of a track, are you more critism about it?
I heard AvB - A State of Trance 2005 and that was my first thought when I was listening to a track who I know the Artist....
I hear a lot of new stuff but mostly thereīre at the first broadcast unknown, so you donīt know who they are......
but itīsīreally nice to see how lucky the artist is if another DJ is playing his track and the feeling to celebrate with him is other than to tracks you dont know the artist personally........ itīs different..........
Whatīs you opinion?
greetings

if you know the artist, i mean KNOW HIM, like going out and drink beers with him ofcourse it will change your behavior.
even if a track is you will support it because your friend made it.. |

Not I. If a track they made is bad, I let them know it's bad. I'll just use a little more tact with them.;) |

yeah, but when you see someone else bitching about that track in here (for example) you'll try to support your friend, no matter if his track is , right? |

| Not really. If folks go attacking his or her character without just cause, I may jump in, but when it comes to artistic endeavours they're on their own. Only they can justify their reasoning for making a song. All I'm entitled to is judging it. |

no one is completely neutral, hell, you don't even have to know the guy.
if there's 2 tracks out, one by James Holden, the other by Joe Nobody McShrchf, one is normally quicker to admit the brilliance in the track of the artist one knows. sure, you can get to appreciate the music, no matter who made it, but on first impression, previous experience is always an influence.
that being said, there's 2 sides to it. those who support it, because a friend made it, and those who are overcritical, because just cuz he's my friend, doesn't mean i should cut him slack.
i try to be in the midpoint, and while i like my friends' productions, i wouldn't play anything i don't REALLY like. |
