wow, didn't see anybody from TA over there, kinda surprised, maybe i just didn't make the rounds properly.

anyways, it was my first time at avalon, and i had a blast! it was a pseudo birthday celebration for me and bas as we both turned 21 in a matter of 10 days. i ended up having 5 shots in the first hour and was good for the rest of the night.

as for the music, it was absolutly awesome, i couldn't stop dancing till like 3:30 in the morning when we left, started getting too tired, and richie was starting to play some weird track that sounded like it had been going on for a minute too long.

wouldn't be able to give you a tracklist as techno is not what i usually listen to, but richie's set up until i left was absolutely bangin'

Haha! I came in just after 04:00 for Matt Darey (and did see a couple of TAs)!

how was Matt Darey?

Richie Hawtin was really good. i was really impressed. spun some great techno tunes. Matt Darey came on at 4, and played mostly anthems all night long. stayed there till around 630ish. It was cool that the light setup changed for AHP. thats where all the lasers and bright as lights came out.

Excellent

He came on shortly after 04:30, dressed like on his home page, and disappeared quietly just before 07:00. By that time the place was emptying out so fast that they ended up stopping the music around 07:15. Which makes me think that he may try to spin earlier next time...

He played almost the same tracks as in SF two weeks ago, but in a different order, except for the exact same first 4 :conf: Not as many vocal tunes as I was expecting, but awesome mashup of Netherworld vs. Skydive

Nearly flawless mixing... really amazing! You can tell he's been doing this a long time.

Maybe it was just me, but I found that it wasn't too loud for a change. Good light/laser show as well. And nice dancers on the right :eyes: but the mime/clown guy on the left :wtf: I dunno...

Definitely worth catching this master trance pioneer next time :toocool:
