I've heard that song "Felix Da Housecat - I Love Acid" but it doesnt sound very bassy.

phuture - acid tracks
First, and greatest. Both petter and nathan fake have done some fairly interesting things with the old 303 in recent times, as has luke vibert with his fairly unique acid-breaks stuff, but for the most part, the best stuff is to be found before 1993 or so.
I'd also suggest humanoid - stakker humanoid for one of the famous early tracks that happens to be pretty good. |

it is questionable that Acid Traxx was the first acid track.
oh yeah and that jeremiah track in the hard acid trance section of ishkur's guide, that sounds like a killer to me. that's my kind of acid. |

i've never heard the track, but felix isn't an idiot and he's been around for a while, so it's probably an acid track. actually that was stupid. he could be referring to the drug instead of the sound in his song title.
not all acid is bassy. it can be very high pitched too.
hey here's another one i've been digging recently Bad Boy Bill - Acid Sexx. well...recently for me. that's funky right there. |

Acid Tracks wasn't the first, there were a few that came out earlier, but it was the first that made any real impression. You can't deny the pure psychotropic appeal of 11 minutes of pure acid tweakage. It's also the only song ever to use a stupid raver-whistle and not sound dumb.
Haven't heard the Felix track, couldn't say. I'm sure you've heard the acid sound. Go to Ishkur's guide and listen to the 303 sample on the intro area. |
