I think the dz1200's went down in price... I've been seeing them new on ebay now for like $850.

i've never used them, but my local shop doesn't even stock them because he says they're overpriced and quite frankly not that good.

GT was running a good special on it: $799. I believe that was about 3 months ago though.

I think its alright. It does offer a similiar control like the 1200s. The price has dropped considerably, but I dont think its for everyone.

I think it looks like a nice piece of gear. Not comparing it to the 1000mk2 because i havent used either, but id much rather have this sitting next to my 1200's for the beautifulness

It's a good deck but I would tend to agree its not for everyone. The last gig I played at had a great booth with a choice of the dz1200's or the cdj1000mk2's. I went back and forth between them and found the tech's to perform just as well as the cdj's when mixing... They held pitch very well and had a feel similar to the regular 1200's just a bit more loose. There are some issues though with scratching so the cdj is the winner in that category.

the DZ1200 is more comparable to the CDJ800 in the pitch resolution. the prices on the DZ1200 has dropped to 800 and the price of the cdj100s has gone up at alot of retailers. my store is now selling them at $1150. the techs are pretty, but i like the dns5000s personally.

I went to guitar center the other day and got to play with some CD decks. I think the Technics are awful. When you grab the platter it's not like vinyl....like you couldn't scratch on them because the sounds goes all digital when you stop the track it down. I guess this might not matter for some people. But I like to hear the bass line and be able to feel where it is on the platter. The other decks have the same sound as vinyl, I even liked the Numark Table more! I think the CDJ-800 is a great CD table. I was very dissapointed with the DZ1200
