| Do you think a Quicksilver G4 733 w/ 2 gigs of ram will run logic 7 express efficiently? |

You're better off getting a newer G4 Desktop.
In fact, considering the prices, you're almost even better off getting the new iMac with the features you want. It gets you the G5 processor speed without the price of the PowerPC. |

dude.. i realize what my options are, but the question was.. will a Quicksilver G4 733 w/ 2 gigs of ram will run logic 7 express efficiently? Not, Will i be better off buying a G5? ;)
at any rate, i am going to buy a quicksilver like the one i described for $75. But, if it will not run logic and my vst's, then it will be useless to me.

That Powermac will work just fine with L7X , I wouldn't recommend to get the iMac G5 (not worth it) I've used such comp and I didn't really like, especially for Music . If you want to get a G5 go for the PMG5 not the iMac G5.
Just so you know most Powermac G4 only hold up to 1.5 Gig of RAM (unless its dual, I think) so try to find out if it's dual or single.
I'd also recommend you to find out what kind of OS comes with the computer... why? Well L7X doesn't run smothly on Tiger unless you have a G5.
If you have any other question feel free to let me know. |
