Boa used to try and bring in big gay talent, but the gay community was never very interested after the first couple times. Victor Calderone was a huge bust.

So there, I was there last year and Deko-ze dropped mad bombs and had the whole street dancing. ing awesome if you don't mind the colourful people parading around.

Calderone has been on the downside of his career for years now...he used to be in HUGE demand for remixes...but what has he done lately that's been "big"?

Boa had some good "mixed" lineups with DJs like Hex Hector, Honey Dijon, etc...but the gay community needs more than just DJs who they already have seen numerous times at gay clubs/events...YEARS ago.

Mark what new gay scene DJ is big and hype? I don't hear about any of them. In fact when I spoke to DJ Escape last time he was here he told me he hated working the gay circuit as he found the music they liked was very monotonous and their tastes were found to be extremely fickle a lot of the time.

So pumped for this. (and pride in general)

I've already set up all of my pre-pride spa appointments. :D

I'd have to agree with DJ Escape on that one...it's too bad because I find Fly to be a great venue. I would pay $100 to hear someone like Sander or Lawler in there instead of the same old, same old.

With the exception of great locals like Deko-ze, Sydney Blu, TK and Addy spinning at 5ive, for example, I consider the traditional gay party scene to be all but dead in Toronto.

So who's good? Well, he's not "new", but the last time I went to Fly was to hear Peter Presta and he was good when he was spinning his dirty tribal and house...but his set was still peppered with some disco-ish diva garbage...but he's definitely better than most, IMHO.

I can't wait for the stage on sunday...now THAT is what I'm talking about...what a wicked lineup from top to bottom (pardon the pun, lol). People are going to go insane...

Looks like I'm going to the saturday party at KH too...I'm counting on Sydney Blu, Sarah, TK and Chiclet to bring the tunes!!! ;)

can someone sort of explain how this works in terms of the licensed area? Will there be one? I don't want to sound like a hoser but it would be nice to have a beer or two. i haven't attended any Pride weekend parties other than the actual parade.

Some stages are licensed, some are not...the activate one never has been, not sure if it will be this year.
