If you ask me, there is nothing wrong with the EDM club scene if youre over 21+.
If youre younger, you just gotta get used to going to smaller parties.
As far as regular TA parties, we've converted practically all DCTAs to InnerDC members. We have our own sick parties and we have connections all around DC so we're quickly becoming our own self sufficient cult, freemason, mob, gag, etc.

fock yeah...the dcta's/icd-ers are coming out of the woodwork, and we have a pretty strong representation now. and dj's love dc too-
ferry named glow his fav venue of 2003
sasha just told pete moutso (co-owner of glow) that he had the best night at glow on sat in over a year and a half
armin always throws down in dc! |

the scene is what you want it to be - if you're cynical then you're going to think the scene sucks, but if you're positive and willing to go to various venues, met people etc. you'll find your niche and love the scene.
i miss my hometown :( |

Deep Dish, BT, Saeed and Palash, Scott Henry, Pete Moutso, Dan Sampson and many other great DJs come out of DC. You can hear great DJs pretty much any night of the week. Just this past Sunday, Pete got Sasha to spin on the roof top of club 5 (which also hosts many great local DJs). Tuesday nights at Spank/1223 Pete Moutso spins up there and the music is amazing. The night is packed with NO hip hop :) Also, you never know who will be spinning up there. Last month you had Deep Dish and Danny Howells show up and tag team...it was amazing!!! Friday nights you have one of the longest running EDM parties in the US, Cubik/Buzz at Nation. They bring great djs. This summer they have Oakey and PVD :) Saturdays you have Glow at Fur and Tiesto, Sasha, Ferry, Armin, Deep Dish are all regulars. Club 5 brings in great house music every friday and saturday. I have been to many cities, and I would say that DC is up there with the best of them...if not the best (maybe a close second to NY).
DC baby!! |

The crowds are a mix of stupid drunk frat guys, rich obnoxious middle-eastern & mediterannean douchebags, angry black guys trying to be "thugs" (or dumb white guys trying to be black guys trying to be thugs for that matter), and the dumb bitches that accompany all of them.
This is sprinkled with some nice/chill people who are into EDM usually members of TA, Groovanauts, or the buzzboard. |
Pretty much hit the nail on the head. |

+1... I know it's very stereotypical to label people like this, but most of it is true! It isn't really until you fall into the DC EDM scene that the stereotypes don't apply as much (unless you are talking about old Insomnia PvD and Tiesto parties where the douchebags came out of nowhere).
I still get a kick out of the latino guys that come to a Trance set and try to freak up on every girl with two legs and a heartbeat. Oh wait, I am one of those latinos.
:haha: |
