Experiences with a Korg ER-1, anyone?

I might be able to get my hands on a fairly cheap second-hand Korg ER-1 drum computer, but I wanted to hear some opinions about it before actually getting it.

I am probably going to use it in real-time, just to see whether it can add something valuable to my DJ sets.

Has anybody got any hands-on experience with this device? Or suggestions for an affordable alternative? Thanks!

Same question goes for a Korg ES-1 sampler. If any of you has used one of those before, please share your thoughts.

(Sorry if this is the wrong subforum for a question like this, by the way, but I couldn't find anything related to this subject in the DJ booth)

er-1 has really cool drumsounds, and you can change the entire waveform over 4 tracks using (virtual) analog synthesis, the others use waveforms. I don't think it is very usefull in a dj-set it's more a producing synth with live - pa possibilities. It's very usefull for electro/techno and other stuff. Don't buy it if you're after standard 909 or trance drumsounds.

Thanks! Might come in useful.

And I'm more into the techno side of things so that should not be too much of a problem..
