| Hey guys. Yet another theory thread. Anyone who may have used reason knows of the demo song 'realisation' by the 'unknow source' chap. Looking at the piano roll, I realised that he would accentuate the melody over arpeggios, instead of having a completely different instrument playing the arps. Makes sense, although when i tried a similar thing, the notes of the melody which i made longer over the arps seem to conflict, as if i were trying to play chords piano style(over one another). Shorten the notes again then melody loses itself in the arps, while makig them longer over accentuates and sounds wierd. Basically epic or euphoric trance has a way of combinig both to come up with truly phenomenal sounds - think of Fridge's 'Angel' with those powerfull arps and melody...I seem to be missing something. anything come to mind? any help appreciated. |
