John has a quarterly residency at 1015 now, although July 17th is very quick for him to return since he just played there 10 days ago.

Oh hell yeah, JOOF. This time I'm not going to miss his show @ 1015. The first time I missed out was on New Years Day because I was just too tired from Ferry the night before and the other time I missed out was just 2 weeks ago because I had to go down to L.A. for my cousin's wedding. Is he playing a 6 hour set again?

He is definitely not playing for 6 hours next time. It will be closer to 4 if we're lucky. The 6 hour thing was a one off that was negotiated after his show on New Years Day. Still 4 hours of JOOF would play to his strengths.

LOL. Well in my opinion, his strengths are sets that are closer to the 4 hour range. That gives him an hour to start off with the tribally prog-psy stuff, and then gradudally transition in and out of regular trance and full on psy, and then end things with the traditionaly Astrix, Wizzy Noise type tracks that he's known for.

If he wasn't so busy hopscotching the globe, and actually had time to mentally prepare for a good 6 hours then it would definitely work, but as we saw in SF, that show was the culmination of a global trek that saw him in Indonesia, Egypt, Cyprus, and other places, and after a while the jet lag just takes it out of you. That's one of the reasons the Vegas crowd only got two hours out of him the following night.

The 1015 show next month will be on a Saturday, immediately following a set in DC, so like i said, 4 hours would be a treat.
