Synaesthesia Remix

Hi all, this is my first post here.

This is my re-work of the classic - Synaesthesia.
Bear in my that I didn't have any of the original tracks
or midi to work from - I had to make it all up. So I hope
I've done it some justice.

All done with a Virus and BassStation in case you're interested.
Listen to this one at full blast!

Wow so thats what this track is. I've heard so many different remixes of this track, usually it's got a vocal like " if I give emotion".
Compared to the other remixes I've heard this one is much better, imo. I like it cause it's harder and faster, although I feel it needs to be overall louder.
cheers

A great remake of a big classic. Awesome work! Is there any way we could have a higher bitrate version?

Sure can. I've just replaced the 96k file with a 192kbs file. So the same link above will give you the new file.

Cheers!

yay! :)

I will check it out right now and will post my comment later. I love the original...and all the remixes I have heard try to hard, you know. Hopefully, yours will be good enough for me to add it to my "500 horsepower collection", hehe.

OK brother, only thing I didn't like is the main lead...sounds too toyish, you know...gives it an amateurish sound. I just wish it was something more harder. Everything else I love...very clean sound which is characteristic of the original. Also, I would love a delay on the pianoish sound just like the original. If those things where changed, the track would make it to my folder. Still, this is the best damn remix I have heard here. Sounds very clean and professional, my brother. 8.5 out of 10 PSI. :)

Spot on about the delay - some I've added some. I'm really wedded to that lead though. Well for now anyway.

Thanks Mate!

Yeah, brother...you added delay? I think you did...because I downloaded again and instead of re-writing it and downloading it quickly, it started the download all over again. Anyway, sounds way way better now, unless that is the same track and it is just my mind playing games with me, haha. Anyway, if you did update the track, can you add a bit more feedback? The pianoish thingy only repeats itself once...it would be cool if it kept repeating itself more with some more feedback so it doesn't sound too empty. And the lead? It is growing on me, but I still would like to have in my collection one with a more "sawy" lead. *crosses fingers* :tongue2

I would definetly love to have proper copy of this, if! you put some delay on that piano ;)

How much delay would like sir?

Actually the track still needs a bit a spit and polish, I'll update the post when that's done.

Synaesthesia is one of those perfect tunes that is really hard to remix. I have to say that I'm not a fan of any new remixes after original En-motion mix and maybe PVD's remix so I'm not easily pleased concerning this classic :)

Well what could I say about this, sounds more like a remake than a remix to me. There actually weren't any new refreshing or original ideas.
Technically this was ok. Soundquality is clear but you also could fill-up some more freqs to make it sound more full. Percs are bit dry and generic too, reverb or extra fx could help or simply add more percs panned more left/right. Mainlead could use some polishing too, the first notechange sounds bit "clumsy" now (when it hits FG).

The lack of any new ideas/melodies is IMO the biggest flaw with this version, now it's just nice remake but nothing else really. I hope I didn't sound too harsh but the original is just too dear to me :)
