hey. im really thinking about getting one of these just want to find out a bit about it first.
so what way does it work do you just send the output of your mixer into it and then an output of the Korg Kaoss pad 2 to the amps/speakers whatever.
thanks lads |

Yup, it uses simple Unbalanced RCA in/out, so you can either hook it upto your Send/Return if you have one, or just run the output of your mixer into it then have the Pad output to your amp, its a simple ass setup, and fun to use.
becuase it uses RCA, you can hook it upto anything really, between TV output, computer output, anything really, just gotta buy the right cables for some things. |

I have one. Ive hooked it up to the send/return on my mixer. Looking at the back of mine, it only has one audio in... here also a MIDI in and out (not for rca cable) and a phono (not sure what this does). |

| to be fair.. I wish I'd gotten an EFX-500.. same price and now when I spin out at clubs, none have a KP2... actually all Ive spun at so far have an efx-500. The KP is also hard to use.. it has more effects than the efx and seems more fun, but if I were you Id go for the efx-500 as I think you can do cooler stuff with it and if you plan on spinning out one day, you will have the experience of it. |

I wish i had bought the KP2 instead of the EFX-500.
I was blown away by how Zabiela used the EFX-500 and to this day there is some stuff i cant figure out how he does it.
But most of the times i recognize just how he does it and it really gives you the feeling of "Gee, the 500 is really limited".
The EFX-500 is so easy to use but so limited, a small number of effects which most have been caned to death so you cant use em
(try using flanger and the audience will have your head on a plate) and the fact that you can only use two effects at a time really sucks.
And the fact that two of the effects, "ring" and fuzz" is pretty much useless and just makes the music sound like utter sheit. |

| As for inputs, it only has 1 RCA Input, 1 RCA Output and 1 Phono Input, the RCA in/outs are for just hooking it upto your send/return or anything else that uses RCAs, the Phono is for hooking a turntable straight upto it, but it only has one, so you can't have 2 decks hooked upto 1 unit, its a lot of fun to use, makes some awesome effects and looked great when using it, but its kinda hard to dublicate and get effects working accurately, the effects that have to be BPM matched are kinda hard at times, where as other effects just work off of your movement on the pad, great unit, but you would needs lots of practice to be able to use it out on a crowd safely. |
