Thank god for Mike Hussey.
Been a fan of his for a couple of years now, glad he's finally got the chance (and proving himself).
Just a pity it was at Boof's expense.

match tied, what a finale :p

To be fair I think we've shown that we have more than in previous tours for you, and I'm happy we can be close, and competing, it's been my wish for 8 years now. Bring on the next 3 games, then the Test series :)

so, 5 games, 2 england wins, 1 aussie win, 1 no result & 1 tie, looking like a good (and closer) summer :)

Yeah very close match.. thought there was no way back for the poms at 5-33!

Ah well, bring on the tests! :toothless

3 more One-Dayers first :p natwest challenge

they will incorporate the brand new rules too, ie.

1) 10 overs restriction at the start of the innings, then 2 slots of 5 overs to be chosen by the captain at his will.

2) substitutions
Trance Nutter
mmmmm, not convinced about these rule changes.

True, something needs to be done with the middle 15 overs to keep interest, but I'm not sure this is the way. Having fielding restrictions may not encourage batsmen hitting out in that 20-35 over period (the most likely time to use the extra 10 overs), it'll probably have no effect at all.

But we'll see........

Time for the main event next :)

Was a close series in terms of wins, however those new rules need perfecting, talk here is about giving the batsmen one of the two 'powerplay' choices and about making the sub thing fairer by giving them a choice of a couple of players to cover all eventualities
Trance Nutter
Yeah, giving the batsmen the choice of when to use both of the extra powerplays is probably better, and as for the supersub, i agree with Sky sports (and this is how I thought it was going to work originally), in that you name 12 players and after the toss you nominate the supersub.

dammit, i never knew you got skysports coverage, could've asked beefy or someone to give a shout to ya ;)
Trance Nutter
yeah, our local coverage was the sky sports coverage and commentators, we had local hosts for the preview/between innings/after though.
