Phil Kieran & Funk D'Void - Lost In Belfast / Black Worm [Soma]

A 12" with just as much quality as you'd expect from these two guys. Nicely varied 12" too. "Lost In Belfast" oozes of the vibrant melodic techno soul-goodness that Funk D' Void got reknowned for with Diabla, while still retaining a fierce, edgy drive.

"Black Worm" takes a completely different approach, and should fit well into the crates of both techno and house DJs of the electro/tech/minimal-style that's on the rise these days. Superb bouncy bassline and sharp, snappy FX make for another solid tune which should get the floor shaking along nicely.

Out on Soma now, copies @ Juno.

Picked up a promo cd of this a couple of weeks ago. Great to see these to quality producers come up with something like this together. Hope they do it again sometime.

Hmm.. Lost in Belfast is actually quite a good track, better than I first expected when I saw Kieran and Funk D'Void teamed up. Well-produced sounds, could see this making some people go nuts on a sunny outdoor event :)

Black Worm on the other hand.. Well.. Let's just say it's not my style, and that I refrain from any further comments because of that.

Ordered this yesterday, sounds quality from the sample I've heard.

From UK Dance Records - Belfast (I believe)
