| We had a day not long ago where because of the way the sun set, we didn't just have a purple sky,purple light shone on the ground,everything was hingt of purple,was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen,I took some pics but they went when our computer broke,I shall see if my mates have any cause I think I remember sending it everyone!lol |

Me too !!! There is nothing better than getting home at like 2 AM and then pulling a lounge chair in the middle of the yard, laying out and just gazing on summer nights. The temperature is perfect and you get drifts of honeysuckle.. hmmm You feel like the only person in the universe, so small amongst that vastness.
Actually, one night after getting home from a party, still a bit tipsy, I felt like the moon was God's spotlight and he was watching my every move, wanting me to put on a show for him. And then I was thinking, based on our actions, he must be VERY entertained.
Ok, I'm done rambling. Thanks! I'm reminded to get in the habit of doing this again.

So a couple of days ago, I was frustrated that I couldn't predict high & low tide (sea is nearby), so I sat down and thought about it. And I finally figured it out. So proud LOL. Now by watching its shape I can predict high tide to within the hour.
Example: perfectly D-shaped moon => moon at highest point in the sky, in the south, 6 hours later than the sun is. (for the sun it's at almost 13:50 here, because we use double summertime in Belgium [14:00] minus 10m25s because I'm a little over 2,5° East of 0°-meridian [2°31' x 24hrs / 360°] => high tide at 13:50 + 6hrs = 7:50 in the evening (and a little over 12hrs later too). Nice. |
