looking to ad to my soft synth collection ,would anyone recommend these?

Arturia CS-80V
Arturia Moog Modular
Pentagon
psoft void
Project 7
Defaintly recomend the moog, hard to program, but pretty good sounds imo
cs-80v is ok, no mind blowing sounds though. Not heard of the other two

i think aritua do a pack, so if you were gonna buy the moog and cs-80v it would probarbly be the same price to buy the pack with a few other synths in.

pentagon is lame

moog is good

I don't have too many good sounds coming from the Pentagon, but the Moog is very good. I'd suggest trying the Arturia Minimoog V instead of the Modular one though.

The Arturia Minimoog is awesome for basses. Also, you should try ImpOSCar...a lot of people don't know it but it is a great trance synth once you get the hang of programming it. It is not that expensive...the price is worth it. :)

yeah imposcar is great, too bad the interface sucks
RiCo
Yeah, I hate the interface...but those sounds are so unique...lush pads, yum! :p

yeah you need to be a brilliant scientist to program that

For trance producing stick with Pro-53, V-Station, Vanguard and Hydra! With these tools you can survive but to had some thing different the Superwave stuff and the free VSTi from Novakill come in handy!

thats a bit upsetting to hear...

if you knew the power of reaktor you wouldn't say that.

damn its sad how people take the absolute easiest paths to creating music...

quality not quantity!

isnt music making one huge learning curve in itself anyway?

anyway, ive been really getting familier with vsts that give that "old" sound. pro-53 is definatly a high ranker, but try out different vsts like mini-se, pro-dg, axx, etc...

there are some really bizzare sounds you can get out of those. there no where near as powerful as the newer softsynths, and they have some Serious limits, but man, they just have that specific sound. almost cheap sounding, but unique all togehter. i guess that would suck for trance, but if your ready to experiment, id recommend those.

really, in the end, everything can be used to produce trance. questions like the thread title tend to bother me, because it shows how limiting trance music has cornered itself into being...

or something

I AM a grumpy today...
