or not
yes this is a flame thread and im flaming at all those who continuously attack labels for releasing compilation albums with so called 'old tracks played out way too much already'
even if the compilation has 50% brand new unreleased material, all it takes is that one track (which has been put on because its very popular and a good showcase track to have) and all of a sudden you get the same old comments (this albums just full of old stuff past its time, rubbish crap next) etc etc
the labels can't win!. What are they supposed to do, keep hold of 13 tracks in a locked vault until the compilation gets mixed and mastered, not let a soul play any single track, thats the most unrealistic thing Ive ever heard!. And this most certainly isn't the way it was done in the past!
no, the only thing that has changed is the amount of track leakage pre-release, with people either downloading it on P2P illegally or hearing it on no-name dj internet radio streams with said dj playing an illegal rip themselves
then those same listeners have the nerve to complain the compilations full of stuff theyve had for ages, when the tracks they've had for ages were never meant to leak out and be overplayed in the first place and even then, its usually only a couple months old anyway!
i seriously dont get some of the people on this forum, I really dont. Grow the up and respect the music. You don't like the fact you've heard a great track so many times already, dont ing rip it in the first place
tracks have ALWAYS got airplay a few months before release this is nothing new, but I don't hear anyone complain about how it was in the past. Of course in the past we didn't have all these online streams. So tracks get played more on internet streams n , so you've heard it a few more times, well clearly you must have enjoyed it a lot to of listened to it that much
take ASOT2005 for example, ASOT2005 had 6 tracks that hadn't even been aired yet, still everybody was saying blah blah we've all heard this before. bull
anyone else feel this way? |

I can only agree with your words above!
thank god, the sales are not only depending on elitists from the TA board, who have every new track downloaded and beem whoring it to death in their winamp.
Just sad it works like that nowadays. But okay, Tiesto wouldnt be voted #1 either, if the TA members had to decide the voting, to many people are just flaming djs and producers, for the "fun" of it. |

the problem is not if the track is new or old, the problem is that most track sounds so freaking dead and exactlly the same. just listen to Anjunabeats 3 and ASOT xxxxxxxx
empty, dead and without any soul |

one persons soul music is another persons lifeless crap, called different taste in music man!
dont blame those labels moving onto a new sound you dont happen to like, one equally could argue the music you personally love all sounds the same too, except more dated

been here long time but never posted, guess felt so strongly on this i had to say something because TA is full of this depressing crap now
really it all boils down to trance music moving onto something a lot of people love but the haters that dont like the shift slag it off any way they can as if that will somehow magically make popular labels snap back to some earlier sound
to me trance covers broad range like armin has said himself A State Of Trance was never meant to mean just trance genre but a more literal meaning with the words |

eh thats just the problem. they DON'T move on. If you listen to Above & Beyond, Dumonde, Lange etc. They have had the exact same kind of sound for years. Without any major improvment. For Above & Beyond it could have been ok but they moved on to start a label which signs producers which copies their own sound. So suddnely we have 10 different kinds of Above & Beyond. LOL!
The final result will be that you listen to different producers but all tunes just pass through your ears and you won't remember what you just heard because they all sounds so similiar. Uses the same kind of equipment, pattern, style, everything.
Don't take me wrong. I've been listening to trance since 1993 and trance is still what I mostly enjoy. But honestly I very rarely fall for a tune nowadays. |
