tiesto14 - i also started out breakin and moved to liquidin', although i dont do much of either these days. I think you are confusing/genrealizing breaking/bboy with pop/lock type dancing which definitely shares similarites with liquid.
| quote: | | basically its dancing with the illusion that water is flowing thoughout your body in various different moves....similar to break dancing but more of a constant flow ..... and break dancing involves getting down on the floor and spinning and ...Liquid doesnt |
just the way you are describing breaking leads me to believe(correct me if im wrong) that you in fact do not know much about breaking, it is not just "gettin down on the floor and spinning", much like liquid isnt "flailing your hands and arms around". Waves and glides are not a part of breakdancing, they are a part of popping. I think you are a bit mixed up in your different dances, just an observation. |

bpm2000...ok man lets get this all staright.....
Waving and gliding are a H-U-G-E part of breaking --- are you outta ya mind man.,...what do u think its called when u pop your fingers from the tips thru your wrist to the elbow then to your shoulder..its called a WAVE...it got the name wave because by doin all those pops in order gives the illusion that ur arm is flowing like a wave...dude u are SOOO DEAD WRONG...u make me laugh..popping as well as locking are both forms of breaken
Glides/slides ...u dont think they are apart of breaken..have u ever heard of the move called the "twist-o-flex" its a form of a glide when done a certain way...glides/slides is when u move accross the floor smoothley...for example when Michael Jackson does the moonwalk..that is a form of a slide/glide..DEAD WRONG AGAIN
When i said it Liquid doesnt involve spins and getting down on the floor and breaken does i was jus tryen to make people who dont know about liquid a manin difference between the 2 forms...and YES breaken does involve getting on the floor sometimes..u ever heard of a little move called a spin, back spin or even a windmill...Liquid doesnt involve these type of floor moves like breaken SOMETIMES not all the time but SOMETIMES does....
i have been dancen for ALOT of years and know how to BREAK and LIQUID very well and dont need to be schooled by someone who reads things off of websites and think they know it all..everything i said is CORRECT so leave it at that....... |

ALSO....
since u think u KNOW ALL..why dont u go rent a move called Beat Street or Wild STyle, or Breakin, or even a MR. Wiggles movie...they are filled with glide and waves and popping...GEEEEE thats funny why would those moves be in those movies when they arent forms of break dancing..LOL....\
MR.Wiggles is by far one of the best break dancers to come outta NYC and he does pops, waves and slides all the time...WAIT WAIT are u gunna tell me now that hes a not a break dancer.....
if u dont think popping and glides forms of breaken please tell me what u think are forms....

ok, honestly....i can't liquid for ....i can't get the basic hand movement down.....but i've been trying, and will continue to try (since i've only been trying for a couple of months, and not even hardcore)...
i've been raving (with one glow stick in each hand) for 3 years now, and i think i've gotten pretty good at that...all my friends think i'm amazing, but then again what do they know about raving, so that opinion isn't even valid....
eric is sooo sick! i've watched the videos maybe 40 billion times and still everytime i watch them i bug out!
one question, what is the official definition of "popping"? |

Dude, you need to chill. I read your first comment of breakin and thought "bull crap", about us spinning on the floor and . Maybe we all need to step back and label what we do correctly. Bboying is "spinning on the floor and " and pop/locking is more of a toprock/uprock style. Both are a part of breakin.
Let's get our panties out of the bundle, and relax. If you need to flame someone at least correct him better. Not just shotting the gun. I know Eric and most of Philly's bboys, and everyone knos who's who's in what scene. Besides, I can't stand some NYC breakers, they are so much beef that you really can't get a good battle out of them. We used to go to Vinyl and battle, but too much drama made us not want ot come back. We have battles to solve that now.
Any other problems, bring it to Ambler on Dec 13 for 2nd Degree Burn and get roofed. (it's a bboy battle if you don't know)

Quickstep......
When i said "spinning on the floor and crap" i was jus trying to let people know , who dont know about Liquid , a main difference between breaken and liquid....i wasnt trying to put breaken down at all, GEEEEEZZZ i started off breaken
"Bboying is "spinning on the floor and " and pop/locking is more of a toprock/uprock style. Both are a part of breakin."
those are your words above......see when u said BOTH ARE A PART OF BREAKIN...thats what i was trying to say to that other kid bpm2000 but he said those styles where not part of breaken....so thanks for making my point clearer
I wasnt trying to flame anyone....and maybe if people would stop scrolling thru posts and not reading them carefully u would see what i meant....all i was doing was stating that liquid does not involve spins and ..not that spins are bad...i never said that....jus that liquid doesnt involve floor moves as much as breaken does...
And i am very happy that u know Eric....whats your point...does that mean u know more then others....your post was more of an insult then any of mine..especially considering u challenged me....keep hating NYC breakers what do i care..i nolonger break andyway...and remember that NYC invented breaken so give RESPECT where RESPEST is do...and that means not to me, so take it easy, however respect to the kids who started it all in the Bronx..like Wiggles and Crazy Legs...... |

i am quite aware to the meaning of "AKA" thanks
but i when said LikuidPopEric AKA ERIC...i mean that when i met him in Philly in person he said and i quote him "i am Eric AKA LikuidPopEric" his words not mine
Hes the one who said he is called likuidpoperic..not me...so if he called himself that then i guess he likes to be called that sometimes.... |

| tiesto14 why so defensive? I didnt say anything to you that should be taken as offensive, i worded my thoughts in a pretty damn courteous manner. Im not even going to bother with getting into some petty flame war, seems we have different notions/definitions of some things, but dont be callin me out calling me "someone who reads things off of websites and think they know it all.." I speak purely from my experiences, it just makes you look bad. im done with this. |

| I liquid dance. It's very fun, and the only way I can express myself on the dancefloor. I love getting people to stop n watch n form a circle around me, it's an awesome feeling! Long live liquid pop. |
