Requirements:
1) Must work in my office (Toronto: King & Dufferin) 10-6 M-F with 1 hour break for 8 weeks (ie 35 hours/week, 5 days/week)
2) Must be cheap. CAD$500/week for those 8 weeks = $4K
3) Must be able to work with PHP Objects and Classes (ie they know the difference between $user->name and $user['name'])
4) Must know enough SQL to understand what "select a.firstname, b.username, b.id from profiles a, users b where a.id=b.id" means.
5) Must understand enough HTML to be able to make tables and forms.
6) Must know what XML is when they see it, and know whether it is formatted correctly or not. (Usage of SimpleXML a plus, DOM a bonus)
7) Must be competent as a user with Windows XP and Basic UNIX (enough to know what chmod and chown are for) but not openly evangelical about either.
8) Must be awake, sober, and ready to work on time, no excuses. Schedule mildly flexible if arranged IN ADVANCE (and we're not talking an hour before they are supposed to be in).
9) Must wear teflon undergarments and have a decent sense of humour... I'm a bit difficult as a boss and i have a damn sharp tongue when i'm irritated but i'm also one of the most sweet, brilliant, understanding creative mad-scientist type geniuses you'll ever meet.
10) Must be legally able to work in Canada and have a S.I.N. number.
Typical Tasks and Responsibilities:
"Generate a list of this from the database, throw it into a spreadsheet and fire it off to the boss"
"Document every variable used by this function/class/whatever"
"Here's a bunch of fields. Make me a HTML form. Have that form put them into a db. Make a query to grab them from the DB and display them"
"Change every instance of this variable to this variable."
"Double Cream, Double Sugar"
